Happy Wednesday everyone!

Just a quick midweek check in from us.

A reminder that we are off today through next Tuesday, but that we will be answering the phones during normal business hours today through Friday and on Tuesday. We will be off for Labor Day.

We completed 60 surgeries this week before we started our off week and completed surgeries for a lot of dogs and cats from Shelby Humane.

If you are looking for a furry friend to join you on the lake or at the cookout for Labor Day, make sure you visit them!

Also, if you receive the Pelham Magazine, check us out! We are near the front and happy to partner with them to reach our local community!

Happy Friday everyone! It was another busy week at Cahaba Spay Neuter! Our impact graphic is below and as you can see, it was a week full of cats! Over 200 total served this week with over 150 being cats! Our staff, as you well know, are absolute rock stars and do a fantastic job at ensuring that every animal that comes through the clinic gets the amazing treatment they deserve. It takes a full team effort to make this happen and they are the absolute best!

Let's dive in to a couple of updates from us:

* Speaking of team, in the next few weeks, we are going to be spotlighting each member of our team! They do such a wonderful job at supporting the safety and well being of every animal and they deserve to be recognized. Be on the lookout for those spotlights starting in a couple weeks!

* We've made some changes to our website! If you missed it, we've added a Partner Page on our website that provides information on all of the rescue and shelter partners we work with. Please reach out to them if you are interested in volunteering, adopting, fostering, or need general information.

* We've also added a page outlining our feral cat policy and some general information regarding feral cats. This is an important population of animals and we love having them in our clinic. We are happy to offer the flexibility we do for feral cats and appreciate everyone who is out there trapping!

* Afternoon wellness continues to be a huge success! Whether you are looking for a quick rabies vaccine, a full wellness exam, or updated shots for your pets next stay at a boarding facility, we have what you need! You can schedule those online or over the phone with us!

We will be off starting on Wednesday, September 2 and going through Tuesday, September 9. We won't be answering the phones Saturday through Monday, but you can call the other days during normal business hours or you can leave us a voicemail and we will get back to you! Good afternoon and Happy Wednesday everyone!

We are continuing our partner shoutouts this week and wanted to recognize a few more of our partners that do excellent work in our area:

1) Second Shots rescue has sent us everything from community cats to dogs of all shapes and sizes. They do great work in their county and community and we appreciate them very much!

2) Also want to recognize Annas Angel Rescue . They send us mostly dogs and do a great job with heart health and helping out dogs that need some love! They send us some amazing dogs and are worth checking out!

3) We also work with Chilton County TNR - trap/neuter/return in a variety of ways. They work a lot with feral cats but are also a great resource for adoptable dogs and cats as well. They do great work and we appreciate that work and their partnership!

Tomorrow and Friday will be a catapalooza at Cahaba Spay Neuter! We expect close to 100 cats to be seen over the next two days. We are excited to serve all of our rescue and shelter partners, along with our client animals!

Happy Friday everyone!

We've had another great week back in the clinic! Updates below!

1) Please see our impact graphic for the week. As you can tell, it is still cat season and we continue to see a large number of cats every day!

2) Some more shoutouts for the week! We want to recognize Cowboy Up Animal Rescue, who sends us some of the cutest little pups you will find! They work with us by primarily sending us dogs and giving us the opportunity for some puppy snuggles, which our staff loves!

3) We also want to shout out Feral Dogs of Avondale Mill! They sent us some feral cats this week and have sent us a number of feral cats over the last few months. We are glad we can support the feral communities they have had come through here!

4) We also want to highlight a new part of website we are rolling out! We want to provide you with easy access to all of the wonderful rescue and shelter partners we work with. We have created a new Partners Page on our website that provides you with the information you need to reach out to any of the organizations we work with. We will continue to add more in the coming days as we have close to 20 partners that work with us!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Couple partner shout outs from us today:

1) We wanted to shout out multiple partners today! We wanted to recognize Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue, who do an amazing job working with us and sending us so many cats, both from their rescue and from clients adopting. If you are in need of a cat, they can definitely help you out! We appreciate their partnership and what they do for so many cats!

2) We also want to recognize Another Chance Dog Rescue! They have partnered with us in a variety of ways, both with dogs and feral cats. They continue to do great work and we are happy to work with them!

3) We also want to shout out Every Paw Rescue! They send us mostly dogs and can be a great resource if you are looking for a pup to take home! We appreciate their partnership!

We will continue to do shout outs in the coming days as more animals come in! We will have our end of week update tomorrow along with some additional news coming from us!

Look at our buddy Grits!!

Grits came to our clinic a few weeks ago needing his eye removed. We were able to get him fixed up and on his way to a better life with that eye removal.

Today he came back for his suture removal and the improvement is so fantastic! Glad we could work with Two by Two Rescue to help him out and get him in good shape to continue what we hope will be a wonderful life!

Glad we were able to see his improvement and have a quick visit with him!

Dr. Long checked my eye. I checked out Dr. Long. I think we both got what we came for. 😉 —Grits

Happy Thursday everyone! We hope that those of you sending your kids to school for the first day have a wonderful and successful day!

Things have been a little slow since we are off this week, but that's because we are recovering from a very impactful week last week! I've attached our updated impact graphic below. We completed 216 surgeries this past week and over 150 cat surgeries!

This upcoming week, we will continue to highlight some of the rescues and shelters that we work with who are doing amazing work with the cats and dogs they serve. Looking forward to shouting them out next week!

Also, look for a fun Friday photo drop tomorrow! Some of you may have seen a few of our school aged helpers around the clinic helping out this summer. They are back in school today and miss hanging out with the cats and dogs!

We are fully booked out next week, but we hope to have you in the clinic sometime soon for your cat or dog's spay/neuter or afternoon wellness!

Cahaba Spay Neuter wants to wish a big time Happy Birthday to owner and lead veterinarian Dr. Long!

She is the one that makes it all run and is the reason why Cahaba Spay Neuter exists today! We appreciate her leadership, her care for animals, and her drive to continue providing affordable and quality spay and neuter surgeries to our animal populations.

Huge thank you to Mayor Wash and the Pelham City Council for recognizing Cahaba Spay Neuter and two other small businesses located in Pelham that won small business awards this year through the Shelby County Chamber.

We continue to be very blessed and honored at the support and recognition we have received. We could not make the impact we do without having an outstanding staff that absolutely cannot be matched!
