Happy Wednesday everyone!

We are off this week as we have a majority of our staff working through CPR recertification for when those instances arise in the clinic. We are so happy that our staff receives this training to make sure that in those difficult situations, they are ready and able to provide the necessary care that is needed. Huge shoutout to our staff for working through their training!

Couple reminders as we get ready to come back in the clinic next week:

1) Afternoon wellness begins next week! You can go online or give us a call and book an appointment. Let us know exactly what your cat or dog needs from our list of services and we will make it happen. You don't previously have to have had a spay or neuter with us. Wellness is now up to date on our website, so you can visit www.cahabaspayneuter.com to see exactly what all we offer.

2) We have updated our online booking to give you the opportunity to handle everything, including date selection for your animal's surgery, through our pet portal. Visit our website, click the Book an Appointment button, and you will be able to enter everything in to get your appointment scheduled. If you have any issues, you can still always give us a call at 205-840-3612.

3) We have changed our policy on feral/community cats and have opened our availability to allow for feral/community trapping flexibility. We are able to work in feral/community cats Monday through Friday each week we are open. If you trap a feral/community cat and can get it to the clinic, we will take the cat as long as you can get it to the clinic before 10 AM and our day's schedule allows. You can always give us a call prior to trapping or bringing the cat, but most every day we will be able to work them into the schedule. The cost is $100 and includes surgery, pain medication for 24 hours, rabies vaccine, and an ear tip. Give us a call if you want more information. You can also book these appointments online as well.

You can still call us while we are off this week between 7 AM and 4 PM and we will be able to answer any questions or get you on the schedule.

Happy Friday everyone! A lot of ground to cover from us!

We are off this upcoming week, but we will still be answering the phones during normal business hours Monday through Friday.

A reminder that beginning in June when we come back, we will begin our afternoon wellness visits Monday through Thursday. These visits allow you to come for just a rabies vaccine, just a microchip, a full wellness exam, or any other service we might offer. You can either book these directly online or call us and schedule with us. These will be very quick turnaround for you and you do not have to have previously seen us for a spay or neuter.

Also, a reminder that direct booking is now live! You can choose your date of appointment directly online now to make things work for your schedule. You can still call us and schedule with us, but this option gives you more flexibility online.

We also have announced a new partnership with 24e, where anyone with a 24e gym membership will be eligible for a 5% discount on all services that we offer. Very soon, you will also see us at The Oaks golf course in their course guide! We are partnering with The Oaks golf course as another way to support some of the great, local options for people to choose from. Look for us in the course guide if you plan to be on the links soon!

Also, another final shoutout to all of our staff for our New Business of the Year award through the Shelby Chamber of Commerce. An exciting time for us as we continue to expand our service offerings and provide quality surgeries at affordable prices for our rescue, shelter, and client animals.

Finally, we would like to highlight that this is veterinary assistant week! We have 4 awesome vet assistants that work in various capacities in our clinic. Their service is critical to providing your animals with quality care while they are here with us! A huge thank you to them for their service.

Cahaba Spay Neuter is revamping its online booking!

When we opened, we felt it necessary to control bookings a little bit more. So online appointments could only requested and not directly booked.

Now clients can directly book their appointments on our website!

When you go to www.cahabaspayneuter.com, you can click the Book your appointment button in the top corner. From there, you can go directly into the pet portal, add your cat or dog, then choose your date without waiting on a staff member to confirm your appointment!

Changing to direct booking will provide you significantly more flexibility in choosing the day that works best for you!

We hope that this allows greater ease in scheduling appointments and booking the day that works best for you! You can still call us at 205-840-3612 to book over the phone, but this will now give you more flexibility to book online!

We will have another update tomorrow with some stats from another great week!

What an exciting day at Cahaba Spay Neuter!

Today, Cahaba Spay Neuter was not only recognized by the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce as a nominee in one of the small business of the year categories, but we were recognized as a winner in one of the categories!

Cahaba Spay Neuter was recognized today as the Category V Small Business of the Year for Shelby County! This category highlights businesses with fewer than 25 employees that have been open for less than one year.

We are beyond thrilled for this accomplishment and that the great work we have done for our local animal populations is being showcased!

Our staff deserves all the credit for the quality care and service they provide all of the animals that come through our clinic. It would be impossible to do what we do without their hardwork and dedication!

We want to thank the members of the Shelby County Chamber for hosting this event and for affording small businesses the opportunity to be recognized for their critical role in our local communities.

We also want to give huge shoutout to our rescue and shelter partners! We have over a dozen partners and they work tirelessly to bring us animals that need affordable spay and neuter options to try and drastically improve the quality of life for animals. We are not able to do the work we do without their support and the work they do for the animals in their care!

Finally, we want to thank our clients and community members for the overwhelming support from you all! We have been fortunate to take care of the fur babies that many of you call your pets and we are honored to continue providing them the affordable, quality care they deserve.

Happy Friday from everyone here at Cahaba Spay Neuter! This was a big week for us!

First, we've attached our weekly impact graphic. 141 spays and neuters this week, along with a gastropexy, a hernia repair, and a cyst removal. We are so happy that we can provide these needed spay and neuter surgeries, as well as soft tissue surgeries that help improve pet quality of life.

Now for some big news! Wellness exams are coming to Cahaba Spay Neuter! We will be expanding our offerings in the afternoons to include pet wellness.

This will be accessible to anyone Monday through Thursday. Cahaba Spay Neuter Wellness does not require a spay or neuter surgery and does not require your dog or cat to have previously been seen by us. We will be offering wellness exams, vaccines for both dogs and cats, testing, and flea/tick prevention, among other things. We will have individual items available like rabies vaccines, but you can also bundle multiple services together that will allow you to receive some additional free services. Our afternoon slots will be by appointment only.

This will start the first week of June and our appointment slots will run from 2 to 3 PM. If you need wellness for your pet or know someone looking for quick wellness services, give us a call or check out our website and book with us online!

We also would like to announce a new partnership with 24e in Pelham! For any 24e member, we will be providing a 5% discount on your entire bill with proof of current membership at the time of checkout. This will apply to both spay/neuter surgeries as well as wellness services. This is a great opportunity to address health and wellness for both you AND for your pets! Happy Monday everyone! Excited for another big week at Cahaba Spay Neuter!

First, we want to thank one of our amazing partners in Two by Two Rescue for sending us some awesome Great Danes today! Love getting some big dog love on a Monday, especially from this sweet girl!

This also gives us a chance to highlight one of the great things we do, which is offer lower cost soft tissue procedures for cats and dogs. Today, one of the Great Danes we saw came in for a gastropexy and cherry eye correction. We also pulled 2 retained baby teeth from a dog of another rescue parter. Later this week, we have an enucleation and two cystotomies scheduled along with a cystotomy next week.

We love offering these additional surgical services to help provide better quality of life for our animals and improve adoptability for our rescue and shelter animals. We also offer emergency day of work ins on a case by case basis for those unexpected moments that can happen as a pet owner.

Happy Friday everyone! It's been another great week! We've attached our weekly impact graphic below and we've had another impactful week!

We also want to take a moment to highlight a couple of very important individuals:

First, we want to celebrate Dr. Long for National Veterinarian's Day! She is the surgeon behind it all at Cahaba Spay Neuter and continues to work each day to ensure that your animals receive the best care during surgery. She is awesome and we wouldn't be here without her!

We also want to celebrate National Veterinary Receptionist Week and highlight Laryn, our veterinary receptionist!
She is the one the checks everyone in, handles all drop off in the morning and all discharge in the afternoon, and also works in the surgery suite during surgery! She's a valuable member of the team and we appreciate her hardwork!

Happy Friday everyone! Another great week was had here at Cahaba Spay Neuter!

We had 9 different rescue partners in the clinic this week and have helped with 2 separate cat hoarding/colony cases. We are so happy that we can try and provide quick turnaround for cases like these and help improve the lives of all the wonderful cats and dogs that our partners have available for adoption.

As always, our impact graphic for this week is attached. Not only did we complete 145 surgeries this week, but we also did an exploratory for a foreign body removal, as well as a cherry eye surgery.

While we primarily focus on spay and neuter, our goal is to provide lower cost soft tissue surgeries to help improve the lives of not only our client animals, but our rescue and shelter pets as well.
