Hamor Hollow Hedgehogs

Hamor Hollow Hedgehogs USDA-Licensed Breeder and Rescue — Conveniently Located in Central New England! Want to meet some hedgehogs? So we decided to become a breeder ourselves!

Committed hedgehog breeding and rescue serving New England since 2003. Schedule a visit to come play with and learn about hedgehogs! Just 45 minutes North of Boston or 35 minutes South of Manchester! As a husband and wife team, we coincidentally both had hedgies in our lives since 1995. After we got married in 1998 and our first pet store hedgies passed away, we had trouble finding a local reputable breeder.

I caught Pacific taking a little break from her babies, so I grabbed my phone to catch a quick video. Of course Pacific saw me and wondered back to her babies so than I covered her up and left her go. The babies are around 3 to 3 1/2 weeks old right now eyes are starting to open and their bellies are covered in this very soft little peach fuzz. This is my absolute favorite age for Hedgehog because they’re more relaxed right now and their bellies are so soft.

I found that one of Laney‘s babies had passed on last night. There is no particular reason, sometimes there’s just something wrong and it happens. Her other two babies seem to be doing great today. And she is busy taking care of them. Laney has been a great mom for her previous litters.

OMG! Just look at this litter of five! Pacific is Mom and she’s doing a great job with her five babies. We have four girls and a boy. The boy is the one with the split face. The two extremely pinto girls might stay with me since I haven’t seen extreme pinto here in a while and we need to get it back in the lines.

Here are the weaning girls. I have the boys and the girls separated, hanging out while I cleaned their cages. Most of these are reserved, but after the reserve people take their picks there may be a few left over.

I was socializing the babies yesterday and forgot to get a video while they were running around. So here are a bunch of babies cuddled up and tired. They went back to their moms after this photo and I was left with the clean up.

Please let me know if anybody is interested in scheduling a learning visit for Saturday between noon and 2 PM. Coming to a learning visit will bump you up the waiting list, because I know you’re serious and you’ve taken time to ask questions.

This is Joy’s litter of six out exploring on their own and enjoying some toys and pizzas. These babies are mostly reserved. We’re waiting back to hear from a few people. If you have not heard from us yet, we may be able to squeeze you into this batch, if I don’t hear back from people, but we have four litters that will be ready to go in July.

Pacific had her babies yesterday. She is a first time mom and she’s being very protective, so I snapped a quick pic where you can see two of her five babies, but we’re not gonna bother her anymore for a while.

I’m doing a learning day tomorrow from 11 until 2:30 PM. If you are interested, pop me a message and will set you up with a time.

We are setting up a learning day for this weekend on Saturday May 16th, from 11am through 2:30PM. Appointments are on the half hour. If you are interested, make sure you filled out our questionnaire already and then pop me a message and let me know what time will work for you.

Lucy had babies last night, but she’s not ready to show them off yet. I just moved the hut and took a quick pic, I don’t know how many babies are in the litter yet. Right now she’s being a possessive mama, but she’s had litters before and she’s always a good mom.

I tried to get a good video of Guinea’s babies, but they’re quilling and angry and the black cat walking around them is making them even angrier. It’s tough to get a Hedgehog video here without Apollo making an appearance!

These babies will be ready around the 25th and they’re already reserved. If I contacted you about color and preferences, then you’re in the current group waiting to get a baby. Babies will be ready between late May and mid June.
