If you haven't checked out Valhalla Board Game Cafe yet, you're missing out!

This place is run by some genuinely great people who are friendly, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. Honestly, everyone there has become a friend, and that's a big part of what makes the place so special. Whether you're a seasoned board gamer or just looking for a fun place to hang out, they make everyone feel at home.

On top of that, they know how to make a great cup of coffee and some seriously good sandwiches. My personal favorite is the Chicken Bacon Ranch—it never disappoints. The atmosphere is fantastic, the game selection is impressive, and it's become one of my favorite local spots.

Do yourself a favor and stop by Valhalla Board Game Cafe—you won't be disappointed!

Dog grooming costs reflect the time, skill, equipment, and care involved in properly maintaining a dog’s coat, skin, nails, and hygiene. Groomers are trained professionals who handle everything from bathing and brushing to haircutting, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and safely working with anxious or difficult dogs. Pricing also accounts for the dog’s size, coat condition, breed, behavior, appointment length, specialized tools, salon overhead, and the physical demands of the job.

Please note that grooming prices are non-negotiable! Rates are set to fairly reflect the time, labor, expertise, and quality of care provided for each pet. Thank you to those that support my small business. We appreciate all of you 💛

🐾 ✂️ **Grooming Policies & Info** ✂️ 🐾

We want every pup to have a safe, comfortable, and stress-free experience, so here are a few important things to know:

• We do not keep pets for extended periods. When dogs stay all day, they often have accidents and may require an additional bath. If you need your dog to stay longer, a daycare fee will be applied.

• Our hours are Monday through Friday. We are closed on weekends.

• For the safety of all pets, we strongly recommend that dogs are up to date on vaccinations. Rabies vaccination is required by law, and proof must be provided.

• All grooming services include:
🛁 Bath & blow dry
✂️ Haircut
🐾 Nail trim/file
👂 Ear cleaning
✔️ A**l gland expression (if needed)

• Pricing varies based on your pet’s size, coat condition, and behavior.

Dog grooming costs more than it might seem because it’s a skilled and time-intensive service—not just a simple wash. Groomers are trained professionals who understand different coat types, perform safe and precise haircuts, and can spot potential health issues while working carefully around a moving obstacle. We rely on expensive equipment like clippers, blades, shears, dryers, and grooming tables that require constant maintenance - we pay to have our blades/shears professionally sharpened every 4-6 weeks. On top of that, the job is physically demanding, with groomers standing for hours,lifting pets, positioning animals properly or working with aggressive or reactive dogs. Business overhead—such as rent, utilities, insurance, supplies, and staff wages—also adds significantly to the cost. In most cases, groomers only receive about 50% of the total grooming fee (they get 100% of their tip!!) with the rest going toward covering these operating expenses. We appreciate those who understand the value of this work. Thank you for supporting this small business 🩷

After years of working hands-on in this industry, I think this is something more people should be aware of:

Dog grooming is one of the least regulated fields in pet care. In many places, there are no required licenses or certifications—meaning anyone can pick up clippers and call themselves a groomer, regardless of experience.

But here’s what I see every single day: people who love their dogs like family. The ones who worry, who ask questions, who want the absolute best for their babies… and I just want to say thank you. That kind of love and trust does not go unnoticed.

Because grooming isn’t just about making dogs look good. It’s about patience, safety, reading body language, preventing injury, and caring for them in moments where they can feel scared or vulnerable. It takes time, experience, and a genuine heart for animals.

As someone who has dedicated years to this work, I can tell you—not every groomer is the same. And in an unregulated industry, it matters so much who you choose. This is a huge reason I am very picky about who I am willing to hire - my team is amazing, btw.

So please, keep asking questions. Keep advocating for your pets. Keep choosing people who treat your dogs with the same love and gentleness you do.

Your dog may only be with us for a part of our lives, but to you, they are family—and they deserve to be treated that way every single time they’re in someone else’s care.
