FORMAL REBUTTAL TO PUBLIC ACCUSATIONS REGARDING AMANDAāS PET SITTING SERVICE.
I want to address this because my business and the care I provide to animals have been publicly questioned.
I completely understand why an owner would be upset if they believed their pet had been left without appropriate care. I would be upset as well. However, there are important details and communications surrounding this situation that are not represented accurately in this post.
The owners were aware before the sitting that I work during the day and that there would be periods when I would not be in the home. I also acknowledge that I should have communicated more clearly regarding my schedule that evening. I take responsibility for that communication failure.
What I do not agree with is the characterization that I knowingly abandoned Ruby or intentionally left her in unsafe or unsanitary conditions. That is not an accurate representation of what occurred or of how I care for animals.
There are specific statements being made regarding the amount of time Ruby was crated and the timeline of events. I have retained the messages, calls, and other information related to this sitting and can document the timeline. I do not intend to publicly post private conversations unless it becomes necessary to correct specific misinformation.
Once I was told by the owners not to return to the home, I respected that request, and they arranged for another person to take over the dogs' care.
I genuinely regret that this situation ended this way. I have cared for many people's pets, and I take that responsibility extremely seriously. I am willing to acknowledge where my communication could have been better, but I also believe it is appropriate to correct statements that do not accurately represent what happened.
