Bee Creek Quarter Horses and Cattle We raise Ranching Heritage Quarter Horses and cattle on a farm near Pearl, Illinois.

We raise American Quarter Horses that are athletic, cowy, fun to ride, yet gentle enough to be family horses. Our mares are mostly roping and foundation type riding mares with the conformation and gentleness that helps them raise nice quiet colts with good bone. Our stallion is South Texas McCoy, he represents a good combination of cutting (his sire is South Texas Acre) and reining (Hollywood Jac

86) bloodlines. He gives his colts the quickness and cow tracking ability that makes them fun to ride and competitive.

Another wild week-end came to an end. A gate was knocked down and four mares had moved to a different pen. But I counted 5. Mac was put in timeout, he wouldn't say who chewed on his neck. He quietly returned to his pasture later that day and his gate was secured.

We are going to list Boo (BCreek Bullz Out) for sale. He is a black yearling stud c**t we raised, born in April 2025. I wouldn’t say he has quick feet, rather he is athletic, yet has a softness to his moves. He stands tied, leads fair, current on vacs, coggins, and worming. Currently Boo is 13-1 hands tall at withers, 13-3 hands tall at rump, I’d guess he’ll be about 15 hands tall when mature. His sire, Checking the Cows is an NRCHA money earner and has 30.5 AQHA points in 6 events including VRH Ranch Riding, VRH Trail, Ranch Trail, Working Cow Horse, Ranch Riding, and Reining. He was also the 2019 Volunteer RCHA Fall Limited Open Hackamore Champion and earned an open ROM. Boo’s dam is our Nettie (BCreek Zannette). He is 6 panel negative and DNA on file with AQHA. 6️⃣5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

Late afternoon rain on Monday, the sun sent up a few rays of light just before sunset. The bugs and frogs got louder and the mist rose up from the wooded draws. The grass in the hayfields and pastures got greener and taller.

Lucille has been voted most likely to put her body parts where they don't belong. She likes to put her head through gates and rub her neck on the bars. Oops, sometimes the gate just opens up. Usually foals shed darker, but her mane is getting lighter, kind of flaxen.
