Sweet Second Chances: Tootie’s Story ❤️🐾

Tootie was Victoria’s favorite dog long before Tootie was actually hers.

Victoria met Tootie when she started working at Paw Plaza, and for the next nine months, Victoria loved her from the sidelines. Then one day, everything changed. Tootie’s person could no longer keep her and when she found out Tootie needed a home, that was pretty much it.

Victoria took her home.

Technically, her apartment didn’t allow dogs.

Also technically, Victoria did not care. 😂

Tootie was staying.

Neither of them could have known then just how much they were going to need each other.

On August 5, 2015, Victoria suffered a devastating stroke. She says she shouldn’t be here today—let alone healthy, active and happy.

But she survived.

And she had a pretty important reason to keep fighting:

Tootie. ❤️

Then, just three months later, Tootie was the one who needed saving.

And Sweetpea was there for her.

Victoria says it best:

“We were meant to find each other.”

And looking at Tootie’s life today, it’s hard to argue with that.

She’s now 11 and living an absolutely spectacular dog life.

She lives on a farm with her two cats. She has dog friends and a kitten who somehow wins the fight for the big bed. 😂

She goes on road trips. She hikes. She canoes. She gets invited to weddings.

She owns a boat.

She’s safe. She’s loved. She’s free.

And she’s having one hell of a life. ❤️

Victoria told jus:

“She’s been my rock, I wouldn’t be who I am today without her. I can’t thank you guys enough for saving her.”

We think these two did a pretty good job of saving each other.

This is what a second chance can become. ❤️
