LISTEN TO YOUR DOG BEFORE THEY HAVE TO SHOUT

We often hear people say, “No one notices your sadness until it turns to anger.”

That message is just as important when we talk about dogs.

Dogs may not always show discomfort in ways we immediately recognize. They communicate through subtle changes in body language, facial expressions, movement, avoidance, freezing, lip licking, turning away, or simply trying to create distance.

If we ignore those early signals, the dog may eventually feel like they have no other option but to make their communication bigger.

Then suddenly we say, “The dog is the problem.”

But what if we missed the communication that came first?

At 360 Dog Care, we believe training starts with listening.

Before we ask a dog to change their behavior, we should ask:

What are they trying to tell us?

A growl isn’t the beginning of communication.
It is often the point where we finally noticed.

Listen early. Build trust. Give dogs a voice.

🐾 OFFICIAL PAWTITION: OUR MILES SHOULD COUNT! 🐾

Hello, everyone! Butter and Toby here, requesting that our zoomies count toward 60 Miles of Movement!

Our foster guy brought us to 360 Dog Care, and we showed up ready to WORK! We woke up early, did our big stretches, warmed up our happy tails, and prepared for miles of fun. 🐶🐶

We’re submitting evidence of running, playing, chasing each other, and making new friends. Nobody tracked our distance, so we’re offering a RUFF estimate of at least one mile!

We each have FOUR paws. Surely that deserves consideration. Our accounting department is currently chewing on the calculator. 😂

There wasn’t a leash walk at a public park today, but there was plenty of movement! We practiced meeting other dogs, getting comfortable with new friends, and building confidence while we wait for forever homes. ❤️

After our workout, our foster guy served us a special frozen treat! Then we supervised the dog food and treats, just in case anything needed taste-testing. We believe in helping.

Will you vote to count our RUFF mile? Drop a 🐾 to sign our pawtition!

Signed with eight slightly muddy paws,
Butter & Toby
Foster dogs. Fitness enthusiasts. Frozen-treat inspectors.

With temperatures soaring above 107 degrees Fahrenheit, our beloved dogs can quickly find themselves at risk in just a few minutes.

The best way to keep them safe is through prevention. Try walking or exercising your dogs early in the morning or after sunset when it's cooler.

Always make sure they have access to fresh, cool water, and never leave a dog in a parked vehicle, even for a short moment.

Avoid hot pavement and surfaces that could burn their paw pads, and provide plenty of shade along with regular cooling breaks.

Keep an eye out for early signs of heat stroke, such as excessive panting, gums that are bright red or pale, weakness or staggering, vomiting or diarrhea, and even collapse or unconsciousness.

If you notice these signs, act quickly:
Move your dog to a cool, shaded spot.
Gently wet their belly, paws, and neck with cool water—avoid icy cold water.
If you have a fan, use it to help cool them down.
Seek emergency veterinary care immediately to get the help they need.

Heat stroke is one of the most preventable emergencies dogs face. A few simple precautions can save a life.
