Horse Folks — I’d like your thoughts!

I’ve been toying with the idea of putting on a 1-Day ON-SITE Horse Sale Event right here at our ranch in Carrisa Plains, CA…possibly during our c**t starting which is Sept 25th-Oct 5th, 2025 (TBD).

Here’s the concept:

We’ll bring in 30-40 of our ranch-raised horses that were all started here with Buster McLaury during our c**t-starting clinics. If you’ve watched those live streams from Carrisa Plains, you know how special that start is.

These horses have been turned out for a year or more after being started and we’ve found that they pick up right where we left off when we bring them back in.

Ages will range from 3 to 7 years old. (ALL RIATA BUCKLE ELIGIBLE)

We’ll set a base price somewhere between $6,500–$10,000 (TBD). If more than one person wants the same horse, highest offer takes the horse.

This would be a one-day ONLY event—a chance to see and choose from an entire herd, all with the same starting foundation.

These horses have proven themselves in everything from ranching and cattle work to team roping, team penning/sorting, rodeo, barrels, dressage, jumping or just plain pleasure riding. Where else can you go and shop 30-40 horses all raised and started the same way, in one place?

I’d love your feedback—good idea or bad? Would you come to something like this? Once I hear from folks, I’ll pick a date and finalize the details.

Thank you!!!
