The therapist is back in session. 🤍🐾

Alpine was back at the library doing what she seems to have been born to do—simply knowing what the people around her need.

There is something so special about the way she moves through a room. She’s soft. She’s gentle. She never pushes herself on anyone. Yet somehow, she knows when to move a little closer, when to offer a quiet touch, and when just being there is enough.

You can’t teach that kind of intuition.

Alpine is truly living her best life as a therapy dog, and watching her come alive in this work has been such a beautiful thing.

She is currently part of our Camp Woods Legacy nonprofit, and we are searching for the perfect placement where this incredibly tenderhearted girl can continue doing what she does best.

The therapist is in… and she takes payment in belly rubs. 🤍

Some visits are too special to share every detail… and today was one of them. 💙

Alpine and Poison had the opportunity to visit a very special place as part of the early steps in evaluating a unique placement opportunity. While we can’t share much yet, we can say this: they approached every interaction with calm hearts, curious minds, and gentle spirits.

Today’s environment was filled with excitement, movement, noise, and plenty of opportunities to connect. Watching these two navigate it all with confidence and compassion was a beautiful reminder of why we invest so much time into raising and training dogs with purpose.

Whether this particular opportunity is the right fit remains to be seen, but every experience like this helps us better understand where each dog will thrive and where they can make the greatest impact.

Some dogs change lives in ways the world never gets to see. We’re honored to be part of that journey. 🐾❤️

Patches wasn’t about to let Poison have all the fun! 🐾

After watching Poison tackle the rock challenge, Patches decided it was his turn to climb, balance, and explore every rock he could find. While it may look like simple play, these experiences are an important part of building a confident, capable dog.

As facility, therapy, and service dogs, our dogs are often asked to do things that feel a little uncomfortable or unfamiliar. Whether it’s walking across a slippery floor, climbing onto an unusual surface, entering a crowded room, or navigating a new environment, they need to learn to trust their handler and confidently work through challenges.

Every rock Patches climbed today was an opportunity to build courage, problem-solving skills, body awareness, and trust. Confidence isn’t something dogs are born with—it’s something we help them develop through positive experiences and gentle challenges.

Way to go, Patches! 💙🐶

✨ Happy New Year from all of us at Camp Doodle Woods and Camp Woods Legacy ✨

A new year means new beginnings, fresh chapters, and tiny stories just getting started. Ringing in the year surrounded by these sweet puppies feels like the perfect reminder of what’s ahead — growth, hope, purpose, and a whole lot of love.

Here’s to the chapters we haven’t written yet, the lives these pups will touch, and all the good waiting just beyond the page.

📖🐾 Cheers to a New Year and The Next Chapter.

📚🐾 Poison at the Library!

Today was one of those pinch-me moments. Poison strutted into the library like he owned the place, found his reading buddy, and then… melted into full concentration mode.

Watching a child read to him—voice soft, fingers tracing the words—Poison leaned in, eyes focused, tail thumping quietly. He didn’t wiggle, didn’t wander… he listened. Really listened.

This boy took his job seriously today, and it showed. 📖💛
Moments like this remind me exactly why we do what we do. His gentleness, his engagement, his ability to make a child feel seen and supported—Poison is truly something special.

He’s well on his way to becoming an incredible school facility dog for our nonprofit, and today proved it all over again.

Here’s to the magic that happens when a good dog meets a good book. ✨🐕‍🦺

Along with the training, grooming and other animal husbandry that happens here, there is also the fundraising. It is humbling when Legends Casino continues to believe in us, continues to support us and sees our vision. Just one of our facility dogs will impact thousands of children during their career. These dog’s of mine continue to heal hearts and we are leaving a legacy one paw print at a time.
