🚨RESCUE REFUSES TO TAKE HER BACK & BISCUIT NEEDS A HERO🚨
📍Greenville, TX (DFW / East Texas area)
Biscuit is a 4 1/2 year old, 85 lb Great Pyrenees/Golden mix girl who desperately needs a new home.
Her owner adopted her 3 months ago. Apartment living has not been a good fit. She has also been growling at the resident cats when they walk past her or enter her personal space, leaving her owner worried about their safety. Since the cats were there first, her owner recognizes that finding Biscuit a more suitable home is the responsible thing to do.
According to her owner, Biscuit’s adoption fee was waived, she wasn’t required to fill out an application, & the rescue asked NO questions about her living situation. The rescue never called her landlord, & she never got the landlord’s approval. The rescuer met her in a parking lot, handed Biscuit & her paperwork over, & sent her on her way.
Her owner had recently moved out of her mom’s home & had never owned a dog on her own before. She underestimated the responsibility.
When she reached back out to the rescue for help, she was told they would not take Biscuit back because their adoption contract only allows returns within 24 hours & that she’s not allowed to surrender her to another rescue/shelter (BS— they were not even a 501(c)3 for a long time and claimed to be, but I’ve noticed she’s since gotten the tax exempt status). This is a perfect example of how just because someone has a 501(c)3 doesn’t mean they’re doing right by animals.
I know which “rescue” placed Biscuit & have been onto them for a couple years now. I got blocked for asking questions.
Meanwhile, Biscuit is the one who needs help.
She is curious & friendly around other dogs, although she barks & pulls toward them while on leash, so proper intros are important. No cats!
Biscuit is crate trained & sleeps in it, although she can be vocal at night. She is spayed, up to date on shots, & covered by ProHeart 12 until January.
🚨 WE NEED A FOSTER WITH REPUTABLE RESCUE BACKING FOR BISCUIT!
She needs a home better suited to her needs, with someone who understands large breeds & can give her the guidance and stability she deserves.
