Northeast Ohio SPCA No-Kill Pet Shelter

Northeast Ohio SPCA No-Kill Pet Shelter Through adoption, spay and neuter, and education, we save lives to make euthanasia of healthy animals unnecessary.

The purpose of the Northeast Ohio SPCA no-kill Pet Shelter is to provide a safe haven for abandoned, healthy homeless, and adoptable loving pets until they can find a home. The shelter opened in April of 2004 and has since adopted out 43,000 pets in the community as of 2023. The Northeast Ohio SPCA is a non-profit, private agency and receives no government funding. The shelter relies on donations and support from members in the community.

In case you saw Jasper and wondered how trainable he is: He can absolutely be bribed and bought to do his thing with treats from Paws Cleveland 🀣πŸ₯°

Jasper is a hound/lab mix around a year old and just under 50lbs. We recommend a meet and greet with other dogs and no small children. 🐢

β˜€οΈOur little sunshine guy is still looking for his forever person!

If happiness had four legs and a wagging tail, it might look a lot like Xavier. ❀️

This handsome fawn-colored boy has gorgeous golden eyes, a goofy personality, and plenty of energy to spare. He's the type of dog who may come out of his kennel like he's got somewhere VERY important to be… but give him a few minutes and he settles down and is ready to hang out with you. πŸ˜‚

Xavier loves getting outside, exploring, and keeping an eye on the neighborhood squirrels. 🐿️ (He takes squirrel surveillance VERY seriously.) He's also enthusiastic around other dogs, so a meet-and-greet is recommended to make sure everyone is a good match.

And underneath all that goofy energy is an incredibly sweet boy. Once Xavier settles in, those big golden eyes will have you convinced you're his favorite person in the entire world. πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ

He's playful, silly, affectionate, and ready for someone who will give him the exercise, patience, and guidance he needs while he learns to be his very best self.

πŸ“ž Have questions about Xavier? Give the shelter a call or stop by! We'd love to tell you more about him and help you see if he's the right fit for your family.

πŸ₯€ Fizz is back on your feed!

Our volunteers recently sent us some adorable new photos of this little can of chaos, and apparently Fizz has decided to show off his good side: including some surprisingly nice leash walking! πŸ‘€πŸ‘

Fizz is a 1-year-old Beagle mix with a BIG personality and even bigger enthusiasm for life. He loves people, sniffing EVERYTHING, playing with toys, and generally making sure nobody forgets he's in the room. πŸ˜‚

He's still a young guy learning some important life skills, so his future family should be prepared for continued training, structure, exercise, consistency, and patience. He's energetic, and can be a bit of a handful when he's excited, but he's also incredibly happy, affectionate, and eager to experience everything life has to offer.

He's enthusiastic about other dogs, though a meet-and-greet is recommended, and we're still learning about his feelings toward cats.

Fizz has come a long way since arriving at the shelter, including getting the medical care he needed for his double cherry eye. Now he's just waiting for someone who sees him and thinks, β€œYep. That's my dog.” ❀️

πŸ“ž Call or stop by the shelter to learn more about Fizz and see if he's the right fit for you!

Look at Daisy. She's a little hard to see in her hiding spot. πŸ’” Daisy is trying to disappear.

And honestly, we can't blame her.

5 year old, Daisy came to us after her mom entered a nursing home, and suddenly everything she knew was gone. The shelter's noise, activity, and unfamiliar faces are overwhelming for this shy girl. Here, she spends much of her time trying to make herself as small and invisible as possible.

But this isn't the Daisy her family knew. At home, she was a sweet, cuddly girl. We believe that girl is still in there, she just needs a quiet place and someone patient enough to let her find her way back out. ❀️

Daisy loves Temptations treats and toy mice filled with catnip, and she may enjoy living with another cat after a slow, thoughtful introduction. She would do best without young children or dogs.

Daisy doesn't need someone to "fix" her. She needs someone willing to give her time, peace, patience, and a safe place to decompress.

We know there's a happy, affectionate Daisy waiting to come back out. She just needs the right person to give her the chance. 🐾❀️
