Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter CAT ADOPTIONS take place at the shelter every Saturday between 11am-2pm. Individual appointments are also accepted during the week, when possible.

The mission of Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter (FOPAS) is to provide care and find permanent homes for the abandoned and stray animals in our care, primarily accomplished through the generosity of volunteers and donors. Volunteers prefer having a pre-adopt application submitted prior to visits and a scheduled appointment. We are making every effort to reduce the number of people in the cat building at one time. DOG ADOPTIONS take place at the shelter every Saturday from 10am-2pm. Whenever possible, volunteers prefer having a pre-adopt application submitted prior to visits. Individual appointments are recommended during the week to reduce the number of people in the dog building at one time.

FOPAS Volunteers will be there with some of our adoptable dogs. See you there!

There are happy tears at FOPAS: Beatrix found her Happily Ever After! Seven months ago, B was freezing and terrified, living life on the streets. Thanks to the compassion and determination of FOPAS volunteer Jodie Gerken, Beatrix was welcomed as a foster and enjoyed new adventures, training, and TLC. Today, we celebrate Beatrix finding her Home Sweet Forever Home with a wonderful family. Congratulations to Beatrix and endless tail wags to Jodie, Emily with Empawthetic Dog Training, B’s new family, and everyone who helped on her journey. We love you B!!

Are you ready to meet this lap full of cuteness?

That's Jinx, Jamie and Jazz.
Fill out a pre-adopt application, then we can arrange your own personal meet and greet at the shelter!

Looking to adopt 4 cuties? Good news! There is one more of these available.

Lonnie was too busy playing to take part in the photo shoot and when you get a cute picture of most of the kittens, sometimes you just have to settle for that!

See Lonnie in the comments!

🎉 Our sweet Jango has a birthday coming up 🎉
He doesn’t want to make a fuss-requests no gifts, maybe an extra car ride, oh and a FOREVER FAMILY ♥️ LOVE IS: Being adopted by a Siberian Husky. Better still, being adopted by Jango, an approximately four-year-old fluff with pitch-perfect harmony. (DOB around 10/2022)

Jango arrived at FOPAS from a rural shelter, where he was taken after being lost or discarded. In his previous life, he wasn’t well socialized with other animals, so he’ll be happiest as your one and only. While he doesn’t like male dogs, Jango does like some female dogs. A meet-and-greet is required for any other dogs living in the home. Due to his expert-level vocalizations, no apartments for this guy.

Husky lovers know this breed requires regular exercise and mental stimulation. In return, you’ll enjoy a loyal, playful, intelligent companion. A typical Husky can lean toward the dramatic, yet Jango isn’t typical; he’s exceptional. No drama! He settles into his suite, doesn’t make a mess, and is happy for people time.
