Just a few glimpses into our day with Mabel & Paprika 🐕🐾

Sweet girls, perfect on a leash, and ready for a furever home. They have been in a shelter for over a year - let’s get them out of there! All they’ve ever known is shelter life and being on the run.

They are a bonded pair, most likely mother and daughter, and thrive together. They should go to a dog-free home, but are friendly with cats. They are both small/medium girls, weighing about 35lbs, young, and are UTD on vaccines, spayed, and fully vetted… you guessed it! They can cross state lines!!! Anyone thinking about a pair of friendly girls who love each other like no other, should take a trip down to Melfa, VA, where they are currently living at Eastern Shore Regional Animal Control Facility.

We spent the day at Tractor Supply picking out bones (which they didn’t eat, so not sure if they like to gnaw on things), going to the beach at Guardshore where they barked at the water but loved the smells, and then we went to a trail on Chincoteague Island which had the most interesting smells! They were great in the car and great running partners. They like to walk right next to each other and be body to body. Once they get to know you, and you get to know them, you’ll have to make room for the pair in your home!

Meet HuskerDO & HuskerDONT 🖤🐾

We hosted a pair of dogs from Animal Control again!!

Brothers at just under a year old, set to be neutered in the near future, are looking for a forever home. Located in Melfa, VA at Eastern Shore Regional Animal Control Facility, these sweet, timid guys are hoping to meet their person today!

A little bit about HuskerDO and HuskerDONT…

HuskerDO 🐾
Lighter color, more cream and white

His ideal life:
Another confident pup to help guide him through life in a forever home.
Most likely a flight risk initially, so a secure fenced in yard is recommended.
A patient owner who understands how scary this new world can be.

A little about him:
He is still a puppy, but is a little shy until he gets to know you. A counter-surfer and trashcan digger at heart, he will need to learn some manners along the way or else you may lose your favorite snack. He is the slightly more social half of our dynamic duo, and doesn’t seem to have a mean bone in his body. He absolutely loves to play once he feels safe.

HuskerDONT 🐾
Darker snout, darker back

His ideal life:
A quiet environment where he can decompress, low traffic, probably best without children under 10-12.
TIME to decompress, this can take months sometimes.
A patient owner who would love to watch a shy dog blossom into your best friend.
A confident doggy friend, probably around his size would be good, to show him the ropes and help him build his own confidence.

A little about him:
He is still a puppy, but has a very shy and gentle soul. When he is overwhelmed he chooses to hide, freeze, or take flight. Never fighting or biting, growling, or looking to hurt in any way. We would recommend someone with a secure fenced in yard so that he will stay safe. He loved Kong peanut butter easy squeeze treat. If you’re looking for a companion that will teach you the value of patience and the joy of tiny victories, HuskerDONT is your guy.

She was a totally different girl this go around, even at almost 9 years old, your dog can get used to grooming too, like Noni!

She got a much needed bath after all that nail dust was on her, and now she smells and looks great!
