There's a yak in the back!

Yesterday, we were able to work with a 10 month old yak named Jim. He came to visit us for castration, vaccines, and dewormer, and everyone loved seeing him! If you are interested in meeting him, he will be at the Grand Forks Fair next month.

Spring is finally here! 🌷🌼

With spring arriving, the ticks are definitely out and about. The deer tick, which carries Lyme disease, is more active during wet weather above 32 degrees, which we are experiencing now. Our recommendation is to have your pet on flea and tick preventatives year-round.

New this year is a product called Bravecto Quantum. It is an injectable flea and tick preventative that covers your pet for 1 year with one simple injection, making this a great alternative for those pets that won't eat the other preventatives we have available. Also, the cost is comparable to getting a full year supply of the other options of preventatives.

If you are interested in learning more about this product, or if you would like your pet to receive this injection, call us at (701)284-6070 to schedule an appointment!

Big news! We’re excited to introduce veterinary acupuncture with Dr. Hannah— a new way to help pets feel better, move easier, and live more comfortably. 🐶🐱✨

Acupuncture is study-backed and supported by medical research, showing it can help release endorphins, serotonin, and other natural chemicals in the body that promote pain relief, relaxation, healing, improved GI mobility, anti-inflammatory effects, and more.

It’s most commonly used for arthritis and pain management, but it can also support pets with:
🐾 Back disease
🐾 GI issues
🐾 Skin conditions
🐾 Seizures
🐾 Behavioral concerns
🐾 Fertility challenges
…and other chronic conditions.

We offer several acupuncture techniques depending on your pet’s needs:
• Dry needling
• Electro-acupuncture (gentle electrical stimulation)

Appointments typically last 30-45 minutes, and while some pets feel benefits sooner, it often takes about 4 sessions to see the best results.

Acupuncture works best as part of an integrated medicine approach, which may include a combination of traditional veterinary care along with supplements, nutritional support, medications, and other therapies to support the whole pet.

Curious if acupuncture could help your pet feel better?
Drop a 🐾 in the comments or ask us about it at your next appointment!

February is National Pet Dental Health month!

Is your pet in need of a dental? Here are the services we offer to help them out:

After a dental presurgical exam to evaluate your pet's mouth, we can schedule them for a dental procedure. This procedure would require a day-stay at the clinic with drop off first thing in the morning. The procedure includes full anesthesia, vitals monitoring, full mouth radiographs, scaling, and polishing of all remaining teeth.

*After radiographs are done to help us to visualize all of the teeth from crown to root, the veterinarian then determines if there are any extractions that are medically necessary. If your pet has teeth extracted, we send home medications to reduce pain and inflammation and a course of antibiotics.

As with all of our surgical procedures, we will always recommend doing blood work prior to anesthesia to evaluate how your pet's internal organs are functioning, to help make sure your pet is healthy enough for a dental cleaning, and to assist the veterinarian in determining the safest and best anesthesia protocol for your pet. This blood work can be done the morning of your pets surgery.

To schedule a presurgical exam, please call us at (701)284-6070!
