Remember this little guy?! Mookie, formerly known as Mr. Rite, came in for his 12 week kitten checkup! He has come so far from the congested little kitten found outside! 😸 He has doubled his weight, and is the healthiest little boy! He’s loving his new home with his human siblings and he loves causing all the kitten chaos he can! It was such a pleasure to see him and we look forward to continue to watch him grow! 💓🥹

Ever wonder why we take X-rays before a surgical procedure? There are a few things we are looking for to make sure your fur baby is healthy and it’s safe to put them under anesthesia. This is a lateral, or side view, of a cat’s chest. The heart is the circular white structure and the lungs are in black. Dr. Doyle is checking to make sure there isn’t any heart enlargement, which could be an indication of heart disease. He is also checking the lungs to make sure there is no evidence of any respiratory diseases or any masses. In addition to the heart and lungs, the ribs, trachea, front legs, portions of the spine, and some abdominal organs, such as the stomach and liver are also visible, so Dr. Doyle will also examine them! X-rays of the chest, abdomen, legs, and hips are all important ways we gain valuable knowledge in regard to your pet’s health! 🐾
