Only Costco could turn goldfish into a bulk-buy situation and somehow make it feel like a normal grocery trip.

A “Goldfish Family Pack” with a limit of 48 per membership is already wild, but the handwritten “Please stop asking for samples” sign is what finished me. Because that means enough people actually asked that someone had to make a sign.

Now I need to know where everyone stands. Is this hilarious Costco chaos, or is selling live fish like they’re rotisserie chickens a little too much?

Be honest… would you buy the family pack, or are you walking away the second you see “limit 48”?

This is why I can’t walk through Costco without questioning reality.

One minute you’re buying paper towels, the next you’re staring at a glow fish starter kit that says 5 gallons is perfect for 47 fish, with a bonus shark apparently reserved for Executive Members. That is either the funniest warehouse joke I’ve seen all week or the most chaotic aquarium advice ever printed on a sign.

Fish people are about to lose their minds. Costco people are about to say “it’s only $89.99, calm down.”

Be honest… are you laughing at this, or are you reporting the fish math immediately?

I WALKED INTO A LOCAL FISH STORE AND SAW BETTAS PRICED AT $150 EACH… AND NOW I NEED THE FISH PEOPLE TO EXPLAIN THIS TO ME. 😳🐟

After losing my two PetSmart bettas in the same month, I started looking around at other options.

Then I saw these.

Beautiful colors.
Healthy-looking fins.
Definitely more impressive than the average betta sitting in a tiny cup.

But $150 for one fish?

My bank account looked at me like I had just suggested financing a studio apartment for a fish with a 10-gallon tank and a miniature castle. 😂

I do not have the budget for one right now, but maybe future me will.

So I’m genuinely curious: are these actually show-quality bettas with better genetics, or is this just a local fish store charging premium prices because they know the fish look fancy?

🐟 TEAM WORTH IT: A healthy, well-bred show-type betta can absolutely be worth $150.

💸 TEAM OVERPRICED: It is still a betta fish, and $150 is way too much.

Which side are you on?

I know Costco sells everything in ridiculous sizes, but a 500 gallon “starter tank” for ONE betta fish is where I officially lost it.

$149.99 sounds like a deal until you realize you now have to explain to your family why there’s a small swimming pool in the living room and one tiny fish living like a billionaire.

Some people will say this is perfect because bettas deserve space. Other people will say this is absolutely unhinged for a fish that could fit in a coffee mug.

Be honest… would you buy this, or would you walk away before Costco convinces you that your hallway needs an aquarium?

The goldfish tank is built like a tiny luxury palace, complete with a golden roof and what looks like hundreds of fish swimming in every direction. It definitely catches your attention the second you walk past it.

Some people would probably call it stunning and unique. Others might feel like the tank looks a little too crowded.

What do you think: gorgeous resort decoration or too many fish in one aquarium?

Appeared out of nowhere. Looks like a tick but I know they are only terrestrial. Google suggested water mite but I didn't see any like this.

I’m honestly trying not to let this make me bitter, but this whole toy drive situation really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Over the last few months, I picked up toys, socks, and kids’ items whenever I found good clearance deals. Some came from Walmart, some from Amazon, and most of them were name brand items that originally sold for around $10 to $40. I wasn’t trying to dump junk on anyone. I was trying to stretch my money and help as many kids as possible.

Then when I brought everything to a local toy drive for underprivileged kids, they only accepted about two boxes and refused nearly all the rest. Their reason was “damaged packaging” or “unknown Chinese brands.” The so-called damaged packaging was mostly small dents or scratches on boxes, the kind you see sitting on shelves at big box stores every day. Nothing was broken, nothing was missing pieces, and the only non-name-brand items were the building blocks.

I understand organizations have rules. I really do. But it’s hard not to feel discouraged when you spend months trying to do something kind, only to be treated like you showed up with garbage.

This is what remains. Thankfully, after posting locally, real families have already started asking for items, so these will still get to kids who can use them.

But be honest… would this discourage you from donating again, or would you just find another way to give directly?

I told myself I needed a simple aquarium setup, and somehow that turned into three tanks with three completely different personalities.

The 4ft South American tank is the chaos tank. Red head tapajos, two Oscars, neon acara, a bumblebee catfish, frontosa, Nicaraguan cichlid, and a freshwater moray eel. That tank does not feel like decoration, it feels like a neighborhood with opinions.

The planted 4ft low-profile freshwater tank is the peaceful one. Congo tetras and super red firecracker mollies doing their thing, giving me that calm green planted-tank look that makes you forget how much work went into it.

Then the salty low-profile tank is the fancy one. Designer clowns, sailfin tang, red stars, snails, and corals. Frostbite, black storm, regular storm, cynularia, Duncan… basically the tank that quietly reminds me saltwater is beautiful but not exactly cheap.

I love how different they all are. One is attitude, one is relaxation, and one is pure reef addiction.

Would you rather keep the big personality cichlid tank, the planted freshwater tank, or the salty setup?

What color is this?
Got her from a mislabeled cup in petco, it was supposed to be a king HMP. I’m over it, she’s mine now. This is day 2 of the color coming back, and I’m completely stumped as to what color this is? Looks almost like a metallic purple with green iridescence? The other thing is that her eyes are power button glowing when turned on green. Definitely never saw that before either. Any help identifying her color would be appreciated. THANKYOU
