People come to Board and Train for many different reasons!

Walks may have become stressful. Commands may disappear as soon as a distraction shows up. The dog may struggle to settle, rush through doors, or jump on guests.

Sometimes there is no single dramatic problem and the dog simply needs a stronger foundation and more focused practice than the family has been able to provide at home.

During Board and Trains, we have time to teach, and practice better habits throughout the day, but we also prepare owners to understand the training and continue it once their dog returns home.

The best place to begin is with a free evaluation! We can learn more about your dog, discuss your goals, and determine whether Board and Train is the right fit for both you and your pup!

Does your dog handle back-to-school well?

Dogs notice when the house gets quieter, mornings get rushed, walks happen at random times, and everyone is suddenly gone for longer stretches.
Some dogs adjust without much trouble! Others may start barking more, getting into things, pacing, having accidents, or becoming overly excited when everyone gets home.

That doesn't always mean your dog is being stubborn or acting out. They can just be struggling with a routine they don't know how to handle yet.

A little prep can make the transition easier if you know your dog has a hard time:

🐾Start adjusting feeding, walks, and kennel time before school begins
🐾Practice calm departures instead of making leaving a big event
🐾Give your dog something appropriate to do while the house is quiet
🐾Keep expectations consistent, even when mornings feel rushed

What usually changes in your dog when your family's schedule changes?🤔

Back-to-school season changes the routine for the whole house, including the dog.

Mornings get busier. The house gets quieter during the day. Walks, meals, attention, and time alone may all start happening at different times.

August can also be a good time to work on the behaviors that have made daily life harder.

For the month of August, S.N.K9 is offering 10% off our Board and Train programs.

Board and Trains are a perfect way to work on your dog's individual needs, practice better habits throughout the day, and build a foundation you can continue at home.

Every dog begins with a free evaluation. We will talk about what is happening, what you would like to improve, and which training option makes the most sense.

Schedule your free evaluation at SNK9.com, call 870.242.1242, or send us a message with your dog's age, breed, and main concern!

Most people think they just have a "bad" dog a lot of the time they just need to look at what their dog's day actually looks like and fix that first.
A walk before work. A place command during dinner. Structured downtime instead of free roam all day.

It's small stuff, but it can change a lot!

If your walks feel like a fight every single time, something in the setup is working against you.
The leash you're using. How the walk starts before you even leave the door. And what happens the second your dog pulls.
Most of it is fixable once you see it. Swipe through. Save this for your next walk.

Your dog might know sit, down, come, and stay. That's a good start.
But if they only do it when you're standing right there giving the command, that's obedience without real training behind it.
A dog that follows commands and a dog that knows how to handle real life are two very different things.

Swipe through to see what that difference actually looks like.

This is why we do what we do.
Every dog that walks through our door is someone's family, seeing the change in the dog and the relief on the owner's face is the best part of this job.

If you've trained with us and had a good experience, we'd love for you to leave us a review. It helps other dog owners find us and it means more than you know.☺️

This one might be hard to hear but it's worth it.
Your dog isn't inconsistent because they forgot what they learned. They're inconsistent because the follow-through at home has gaps.
For example, commands that only get enforced sometimes, rules that change depending on who's home, or training that only happens when it's convenient.

Swipe through. Save this and be honest with yourself about where the gaps are. We are here to help!
