As many of you are probably aware, there have been reported and confirmed cases of EHV-1/EHM (neurologic) in Texas and Oklahoma that were confirmed as all having attended a barrel racing competition in Waco, Texas. Additional cases have been reported in Canada as well as Maryland, at least one of these cases has been confirmed as neurologic (EHM) but these cases have not been linked to the barrel racing event.
โญ๏ธThere have been ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐๐ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐๐จ๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ to date but we urge you to consider limiting any non-essential transport/moving of your horse(s) until this outbreak subsides.
If you have any reason to believe that your horse may have been exposed, quarantine that horse away from any others and contact your vet as soon as possible.
