We’re heading into one of our favorite times of year for bird watching, so let’s get those backyard feeding stations ready!

☐ Clean your feeders 🧼
☐ Toss old or questionable seed
☐ Stock up on black oil sunflower 🌻
☐ Check your feeder for damage
☐ Keep fresh water available 💧
☐ Watch for migrating birds 👀
☐ Have some suet ready for cooler weather 🐦

Black oil sunflower seed is a favorite for many backyard birds and is an easy staple to keep on hand as we head into fall.

🧼 FALL MIGRATION STARTS WITH A CLEAN FEEDER

🍂🐦 Fall migration is here—and before all those feathered travelers start stopping by, it’s a great time to CLEAN YOUR FEEDERS!

Over the summer, feeders can collect old seed, moisture, bird droppings, and other debris.

Before filling them up for the fall:

🧼 Empty out old seed
🧽 Scrub the feeder with hot, soapy water
💦 Rinse really well
☀️ Let it dry completely
🌻 Fill it with fresh seed

Your backyard may become a busy little rest stop for migrating birds passing through Nebraska! 🐦
