NEBRASKA HUNDESPORT CLUB·MONDAY, JANUARY 20, 2020·
Nebraska Hundesport Club is a DVG club located in Omaha, Nebraska. NHC provides an atmosphere/opportunity/outlet for both handlers and their dogs to learn, develop and train their dogs and participate in a dog sport called IGP/IPO/Shutzhund. (A dog spo

rt that originated from Germany over 100 years ago). It is a three phase sport that includes Tracking, Obedience and Protection, Dog triathalon so to speak. NHC is an all-breed club, which means that, regardless of your dog’s breed, if your dog has the right temperament, the right drives and you can work with a diverse group of dog enthusiasts, you are welcome. About DVG
DVG – Deutscher Verband der Gebrauchshundsportvereine (German organization of working dog sport clubs) is the largest working dog organization in the world. It is also the oldest Schutzhund training organization in the world. It has over 30,000 members participating in many different dog sports. In addition to Schutzhund, DVG in Germany offers agility (its most popular sport), flyball, search and rescue trials, rally obedience, water rescue, obedience, and many other sports. Schutzhund was one of the original DVG sports, and it remains an important part of the organization, even though the number of participants is relatively small. DVG is divided into a number of regions, called Landesverbände (LV). All of the LVs are in Germany, except for LV DVG America, which covers all of North America. The president of LV DVG America is a member of the Board of DVG, and goes to Germany each year to the annual business meeting to vote on Board and membership affairs. Some Landesverbände are further divided into regions called Kreisgruppe (KG). LV DVG America has 4 KGs – West, Midwest, Southeast, and North. DVG is a member of VDH, the German Kennel Club, roughly equivalent to the AKC. In turn, VDH is a member of FCI, the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (World Canine Organization). FCI is the largest canine organization in the world. It includes 92 member clubs and contract partners. Most of these are breed clubs, but there are also a number of working dog organizations. DVG, like many other working dog organizations, follows the rules of the FCI for running its trials and other competitions.

So thankful to have BHOT FCI BH, FCI IGP1 Argo Vom Vom Hause Elite back in the family. He is such a cool dog. Working on corners and more direct article indication. He is coming along.

Super windy this morning on the track with BHOT FCI BH, FCI IGP1 Bullet Vom Hause Elite (Yana x Hector). Thankful to have the opportunity to work with this guy.

Super grateful for everything this amazing girl continues to teach me. 🥰 My support system knows exactly what I mean - thank you. You know who you are. She puts so much pressure on herself just to please me. BHOT 28-month-old FCI BH Britta vom Hause Elite (Yana x Hector). Today’s 22+ minute track was laid and run in the rain, including standing water. No edits, just the good, the not-so-good, and everything in between. She went off track, worked it out, and recovered very well with very little help from me. I couldn’t be more proud of how far she has come. ❤️

I had searched for a local IGP club in early 2024 but did not find one, at least through the searches I made. But I knew of the sport and was impressed with how an IGP trained dog makes for a good companion and protector. In the fall of 2024, I wanted to get into the sport even though I could not find a local club. I thought I could train my dog myself at least in the tracking discipline of IGP. I was out one morning training my 6-month-old German Shepherd Dog to track and was amazed when I saw several people close to my location doing the same thing. That’s when Akin came over to me and showed me a few things to help me. We talked for a few hours, and he told me about Nebraska Hundesport Club and that it was an IGP dog club. I was hooked. I soon became a member and began my IGP journey. I now have a titled dog with two titles, FCI BH and FCI IGP1. We are now training for a fall trial with a goal of achieving an FCI IGP2 and FCI FH1 title. I would not have been successful if it weren’t for Akin. His methods focus on each handler’s ability and their dog’s capabilities and train them as a unique team. Akin knows each handler/dog team is different from another team and trains each team to bring out their strengths and be ready to achieve IGP titles. His years of experience gives him unique capabilities to read a handler/dog and bring out the best in them under every circumstance. Akin has been extremely supportive, patient, understanding and my best advocate and cheerleader. He wants nothing more than for club members to be successful and Akin will do everything he can to make that happen. Akin will help you build a solid relationship with your dog and help you excel in the IGP sport. I am grateful for Akin’s guidance and friendship.
