Hard to believe we just completed our 8th annual free pet vaccine clinic at the Montgomery Hose Fire Company in Norristown this past Saturday! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for this event!

A HUGE thank you to Dr. Kristine Stellato and Dr. Carlos Jimenez, who along with our incredible vet techs, Eva Misetic and Tina McElvarr, vaccinated over 250 dogs and cats!

Special thanks to Fire Chief Tom O’Donnell and Asst. Fire Chief Frank Ludwig Hose Fire Company Norristown Fire Department! Thank you for partnering with us these past 8 years for such an important need in the Norristown community.

And finally, to our amazing volunteers, your tireless dedication and commitment to this event is second to none! You all did an outstanding job helping us make this event a huge success! Words can never express how grateful we are to all of you!

What a great turnout on Saturday for our annual free vaccine clinic in Norristown, where we vaccinated over 350 animals! Our best turnout so far!

A HUGE thank you to Dr. Kristine Stellato as well as vet techs Eva M. Misetic and Tina McElvarr. This incredible trio worked non-stop for over 4 hours vaccinating our 4 legged attendees. Outstanding job!

Attention all young heroes! Join us Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13 as we learn all about safety and the heroes that serve our community!🚔🚒

Saturday, October 12 | 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM: Norristown Fire Department will present Fire Smart, a family-friendly day of consisting of activities to promote fire safety and prevention. Fire trucks will be available for kids to explore!

Sunday, October 13 | 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM: Norristown Police Department will be onsite with giveaways and vehicles!

As always, First responders receive free zoo admission. Current police officers, firefighters, and EMT personnel must show valid credentials at the admission counter. Families attending our Safety Weekend event with police officers, firefighters, and EMT personnel will receive a discounted admission rate of $5.00. Discounted family admission rate is only available at the gate.

Thanks to everyone in the Pottstown area who came out to get their pets vaxxed, thanks to Pottstown Parks & Recreation for providing the venue, of course thanks to Dr. Meg, McCartin, Angela, Eva Misetic and Tina McElvarr for administering the shots - then of course thanking our volunteers. We couldn't do it without you!

It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you the passing of one of our DogsHome alums.

Our dear Cocoa passed away peacefully on New Year’s Day at the age of 15 with her loving dads right there beside her.

Cocoa came to us in April of 2016 at the age of 8 through no fault of her own. The passing away of her first pet parent led to her being cared for by her second family until they were no longer able to do so.

I met Cocoa & her family at Marsh Creek where she would now be entrusted to us to find her forever home. And a little more than a year later, May 3, 2017, in fact, just a few days before her 9th birthday we found Cocoa her forever home. As a rescue, there is nothing more rewarding than finding the perfect match for the dogs in our care.

Jim Comerford & Mike Swalina, we will be forever grateful to both of you for taking such wonderful care of our little princess for the past 7 years. We know you are broken hearted and we are so deeply sorry for your loss. Cocoa was so very fortunate …..we were so fortunate to find you. Cocoa knew she was truly loved. ❤️

As for me dear Cocoa, Auntie M will always cherish our car rides together as we headed for our walks at Marsh Creek……for that’s where it all began back on that spring day in 2016.

Rest in Peace little princess.
