Amarillo Bird Dog Club

Amarillo Bird Dog Club Training grounds for the Amarillo Bird Dog people. Membership Required. The Amarillo Bird Dog Club supports upland hunting with bird dogs.

It provides training grounds, training seminars, and training support. We have a lease of 90 acres and a private hunting permit. Quail are available year around. We hold NSTRA and AKC field trials. We have other club functions each year, most are held on the club grounds. We sponsor two (2) training seminars for all pointing breeds of dogs and our lecturer for these seminars is a Professional Dog Trainer. We also host a snake proofing clinic for all breeds.

The ABDC enjoyed having Top of Texas Quail Forever Mentor Hunt,everyone had a good time despite the cold weather,had a great lunch & the great fellowship with fellow hunters.
Thank you ABDC members & Quail Forever members for volunteering your time & great dogs.Continue to support Quail Forever they do some great things for upland hunting.

3rd Annual Mentor Hunt 3/7/26
Saturday 3/7 ABDC will be hosting TOP of TEXAS QUAIL FOREVER Mentor Hunt to promote upland hunting to anyone interested in learning about upland hunting & bird dogs.
Members that can volunteer time and their dogs to help in the hunt and be a Mentor to promote the future of upland hunting.
The Hunt will start at 8:00am at the ABDC Training Grounds 687 FM683.

Everyone had a good time Pre-Season Fun Hunt ABDC,dogs got run & hunt ,weather was good in the morning,late morning started getting hot,& scenting conditions was not good. There was GSPs, PoodlePointers,& Brittanys bird dogs.,
Dog tales,hunting stories,training ideas exchanged ,new friendships ,bird hunter bonds were made.
ABDC members all joined in to help,from helping guest ,to cooking burgers,and anything thing else,catching birds to planting birds.
Thank you to ABDC members Jason Ray,Burnie Stokes, Russell Camp,for all the good work .

2nd SNAKE AVOIDANCE
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 6th @8:00,AT the ABDC GROUNDS LOCATED AT 687 FM 683(WEST SIDE OF PANTEX)ABDC WILL BE OFFERING A SNAKE AVOIDANCE TRAINING FOR DOGS. THE CLUB HAS A NUMEROUS REQUESTS FROM PUBLIC TO HAVE ANOTHER SESSION.
ALL DOGS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND, DOGS MUST BE 6 MONTHS OLD.
HOUSE DOGS TO WORKING DOGS ,HUNTING DOGS .
SIGN UP MORNING OF THE EVENT,
COST $75.00 PER DOG, ABDC MEMBERS GET 1 DOG FREE.
