Faolan Lykoi We love our weirdo cats! Featuring Lykoi (the werewolf cats), Transylvannians (the vampire cats), and Donskoy (the elegant shapshifters).

My name is Connie Hurley and my Cattery is Faolan Lykoi, home of the werewolf cat. I work with three other fabulous ladies in a combined breeding program under the heading of Weirdo Cat Co. My breeding partners are Desiree Bobby (Beeblebrox), Rianna Quinlan (Leviosa), and Brandi Sellick (LegendNLore). In my professional life, I am a board-certified veterinary surgeon working at a busy specialty referral and trauma center in Wisconsin. In my personal life, I enjoy taking care of my cats, showing Lykoi in CFA, geeking out on genetics, and spreading the weirdo cat addiction to unsuspecting folks. At Faolan Lykoi, I specialize in the Werewolf Cat - the Lykoi and we're branching out into the Transylvanian breed (Vampire Cat) with a Donskoy in the mix, as well. I enjoy sharing the Lykoi in the show halls and introducing people to these unique little monkeys. When I scrape together a little free time, I also enjoy painting & drawing, knitting, gardening, and spending time with my family, but most of my time is split between work and my cats!

**Now THIS is what we mean when we say Lykoi change fast. 😂🐺**

Stomp and Pounce, our gorgeous polydactyl black roan boys, were in full molt **just last week** — both only beginning to sprout their new coats across the tops of their heads.

Fast-forward one week… **LOOK AT THEM!** 😳

Freshly sprouted coat is popping up all over their bodies, and these two little werewolves are transforming before our eyes ....and is that a SKUNK stripe?

🐾 **Pounce**, our long-haired polydactyl floof, has nearly finished shedding his old coat. He’s down to just a few wispy stragglers while that gorgeous, darker new coat comes roaring back in.

🐾 **Stomp**, meanwhile, has apparently decided that being a werewolf wasn’t quite unique enough and is auditioning for the role of **adorable little skunk.** 😂 His new coat is coming in with the cutest pair of lighter white dorsal stripes! Although his color and pattern will continue to change, we find this current snap shot in time just adorable!

This is one of the things we absolutely LOVE about Lykoi. Their coats can change dramatically from one week to the next, and you never quite know what your little werewolf is going to look like when the molt is finished.

Both boys are already reserved for their new homes, but we couldn't resist sharing their latest transformation progress photos!

Our little Transylvanian girls are continuing their color shift and we love it! 🧛‍♀️🖤

These two little vampire girls are right in the middle of their color transformations, and we are absolutely mesmerized watching it happen.

🖤 Csenge (high white) is beginning to reveal her darker face, with the deeper coloration starting to develop around her white muzzle, eyes, and ears. And those gorgeous white eyebrows are really starting to pop! She is turning into an absolutely stunning little Transylvanian.

We love this girl so much that she will be staying here at Faolan. ❤️

Keep an eye out for Csenge in the HHP rings later this year — we can't wait to see what the judges think of our little vampire girl!

🖤 Tünde — soon to be Lilith — is also changing beautifully. Her roaning is filling in, and that gorgeous, ghostly grey undercoat is becoming more and more apparent as her color develops.

While Csenge is our little keeper, Tünde is getting ready for her next adventure and her momma is anxiously waiting is going to be getting one of the sweetest, most human-loving little creatures to ever exist.

Seriously. This girl is such a love. While the others scamper about chasing toys, she sits at my feet begging for "uppies". She wants to be with her people, loves her humans, and has completely stolen our hearts. ❤️

Watching these girls develop has been such a fascinating experience. The Transylvanian's color transformation is part of what makes these cats so incredibly special — you really have to watch them grow to appreciate just how much they change!

🖤 ANDRE — The Perfect Witchy Cat! 🖤

Sometimes plans change, and through absolutely no fault of his own, after being reserved, this handsome little guy has become unexpectedly available again.

He is fully vetted - vaccinated, preventatives, microchipped, neutered, and ready to haunt his new family with all the energy of a tiny caffeinated witch's familiar. Parents are DNA tested, HCM scanned yearly, as well. 🧙‍♀️🖤

Meet Andre, a 3-month-old black Donskoy outcross boy with a straight coat, a slick little black suit, and an ego that is considerably larger than he is. 😂

He does have a mostly full coat at this point, and we feel he will likely retain a full coat—though with Donskoy, you never quite know how much they will dress down over the first 1–2 years, so it's possible his coat may thin (though we think he is going to keep his coat).

This boy is ALL BOY. 🖤

🖤 A certified talkie boy who has plenty to say when he thinks his people have wandered off

🖤 Firmly believes he is the center of the universe

Andre particularly loves chasing mousies. Toss one, and he's off! And if you happen to throw it again? Well, obviously that's what you are here for.

He's playful, interactive, curious, and absolutely wants to be involved in whatever is happening. Why would you possibly do something without him?

And that personality? Oh, he has one. Andre is not a wallflower, nor does he have any intention of becoming one. He wants his people, he wants attention, he wants playtime, he has opinions to share, and he would like you to understand that all of this is very important.

He's a gorgeous example of the athletic, elegant Donskoy body type, wrapped up in a wonderfully sleek black coat—and then someone apparently decided he needed just a little extra purrsonality.

Andre is available through no fault of his own, and he's looking for someone who appreciates a cat with opinions, personality, and the absolute certainty that he is, in fact, fabulous and should be told this on a daily basis. 🖤🐾

🦇 Two Months Old... The Vampire Girls Are Transforming

Our little Transylvanian vampires are two months old, and the transformation is officially underway.

Csenge and Tünde are beginning to reveal more and more of their adult coloration, and watching these girls change is absolutely fascinating.

Csenge's darker coloration is starting to form, beautifully framed by those lovely white eyebrows and emerging facial features. She has such a striking little expression already, and we can't wait to see how her pattern continues to develop.

Tünde, meanwhile, is gaining a beautiful amount of light coloration throughout her undercoat, along with the lighter ear trim that is so characteristic of the Transylvanian. Her transformation is taking her in a completely different direction from her sister, and we are loving every stage of it.

And personality? These two couldn't be more different.

Tünde—soon to be Lilith—is our social butterfly. She wants to know what everyone is doing, where the action is, and whether she might be invited to participate.

"You will pet me. Love me. Tell me I'm pretty. Toys are lovely, but where are my peeps? And my food."

While Csenge loves her people, too, she is the toy meownster extraordinaire. Give her something to chase and she is ready for battle. Nothing in the kitten room is safe from this little hunter.

Two months in, and we are completely, ridiculously in love with these girls.

Their colors are changing. Their personalities are blooming. And our two tiny Vampire Cats are becoming more captivating with every passing week.

Pounce — maximum floof, maximum toes, maximum personality.

This long-haired, black roan, polydactyl Lykoi is quite possibly the most delightfully ridiculous little creature we have right now. With his crazy Einstein-esque wispy floof and those big old paws packed with extra toes, he’s hard to look at without smiling.

Pounce is also heading into his kitten molt, so that glorious fuzzy baby coat is coming out, prepping for the next new crop of delightful floof. New coat growth is beginning to emerge as the kitten coat starts to disappear, kicking off the transformation that makes Lykoi kittens so fascinating to watch. Over the next few months, his coat will continue to develop, with full coats typically returning by around 4 months of age, though with the long hair coat, it will continue to develop for months, regaining those flowing wispy locks.

But honestly, those paws deserve their own mention.

Look at those feet.

Stomp — the wolfing out begins!

Stomp is a short-haired, black roan, polydactyl Lykoi kitten, and he’s right in the middle of his kitten molt. The last of his baby coat is hanging on across his tail and hind legs, while the first sprouts of his new coat are beginning to appear.

Now begins the wolfing out process. Over the next few weeks, that scruffy little kitten coat will give way to his developing adult coat, with full coats typically returning by around 4 months of age. Watching these little werewolves transform is one of the most fascinating things about the Lykoi breed!

And while his appearance is changing by the day, one thing about Stomp hasn’t changed at all: this little man is an absolute love. He’s the first one to the food bowl, the first one looking for pets, and always ready for toys, treats, and time with his people.

From furry little nugget to half-naked werewolf and back again… the transformation has officially begun.

🐺 Let's Talk Molting! - The Crazy Coat Cycle of a Lykoi Kitten

If you’ve ever wondered how a Lykoi kitten goes from fluffy little fuzzball to half-naked werewolf and back again, this is it!

One of the most fascinating things about Lykoi kittens is the dramatic molt they go through during those first few months. And the transformation can happen so quickly that they can genuinely look like completely different kittens from one week to the next.

Stomp is giving us a particularly fun front-row seat to the process.

At around 4 weeks, he was covered in a full, soft kitten coat, complete with that adorable Lykoi facial mask.

By 7 weeks, the molt was well underway. The hair loss typically starts on the head, between the ears, then progresses down over the head and neck, onto the forelimbs, chest and belly, and eventually continues toward the hind limbs, back and tail.

And now at 10 weeks, Stomp is showing us just about every stage at once. The molt has moved back over his hindquarters, while fresh new coat is already beginning to sprout between his ears and spread back over his head and cheeks.

The really wild part? Regrowth often follows a similar pattern to the molt. So while one part of the kitten is still losing its coat, another part may already be growing a new one.

Which means Stomp currently looks a little bit like two different kittens stitched together — fuzzy on one end, naked in the middle, and starting to wolf out again on top!

The tail and back of the hind legs are often among the last areas to give up that thick kitten coat, making the whole process even more entertaining to watch.

These little werewolves can look dramatically different from week to week, and we're never quite sure what version we're going to wake up to next.

Stomp and his brother Pounce are definitely wolfing out just in time for spooky season. With Halloween approaching, they're growing into their new coats right on schedule!
