Yum! Yum! Yum!

Look who scored a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich!! It's our brindle beauty PRINCESS! Check out her magnificent sit, the tongue going at the sandwich and that wonderfully sour look on her face! LOL. We love our pretty lady Princess and we're grateful Staff Member Catherine gave her such a wonderful morning snack. Note: 9 yrs young!

PHASE 2: Volunteer Orientation with Paddy!!

Puppy PADDY had a busy Saturday and oh, the fun she had. In charge of guiding new humans through our volunteer orientation, when we last saw her, she was sitting beautifully letting the humans get the harness on her. Next step, walking her on the grounds and then practicing walking in our arena area. It's really hard to tell who had the better time during orientation- was it the humans or Paddy?? Note: Paddy is 8mos old; hound mix.

Our Pet of the Week thanks to Rooterman Of Virginia is from Caring For Creatures Ziggy is a happy-go-lucky guy who takes life in stride. He loves everyone he meets, has lived with other dogs, and is already a favorite among our staff and volunteers. He's also housetrained!
What Ziggy needs now is a loving home where he can spend his golden years being someone's very best friend. At 12 years old, he still has plenty of love, personality, and a little mischief to share.
Could you be the happy ending Ziggy deserves? ❤️🐾 www.caringforcreatures.org

Dress the part and you ARE the part!!

Our newest doggy at the Sanctuary GYPSY continues to settle in and is doing a great job at her new "normal." You may recall, she initially lost her home of 3 yrs to a fire then her second home was repossessed which is a lot for any doggy to go through.

Here, you can see her in our main office. With Halloween on the horizon, why not go ahead and see which costumes best suit her style? We fitted her with a lioness cap in part because we knew she'd look adorable but also because she can be a wee anxious at times. Maybe that lioness cap will impart its inner calm and braveness to our sweet girl! Ahh, the power of suggestion!

Someone needs our classically attired beauty ISABELLE!

Our 3 yr old friend struck such amazing poses that we couldn't wait to share with you!! Isabelle may not be the first one to greet you in her room...kitty siblings POLKA and DOT wear that crown....but if you hang out a bit, Isabelle will softly come your way in search of some soft pets and strokes and TLC. Elegant and classy and a total sweetheart, she's ready to put her pet skills to work. Have an opening? Need an Isabelle? A little bird told us "yes" and "yes!"

Saturday was orientation day for new volunteers and here's just one peek at the fun folks had! We had 2 dads training for our volunteer team and why not just bring the kids along so they too can learn more about how to work with pets!

Here you can see PADDY- our most perfectly patient and lovable puppy/teen lady- beautifully showing everyone how easy it is to hook her up with a harness. Not just any dog can be swarmed by us humans, remain calm and look stunning all at the same time!! Way to go Paddy and new volunteers, welcome! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

SATURN has gone home!!

Her adoption story is sure to warm your hearts!
First of all, Saturn arrived as a recent momma to 4 kittens- More typically, it's the kittens that go home first and mom is the last to find her new home. Not so with this family as Saturn was the first to go home. Way to go!

Now the other yummy part- Saturn's new mom Amy actually met Saturn when she was still a stray. Amy says she was a sweet and friendly kitty, but she had thought a neighbor was taking care of her and didn't realize that Saturn had four kittens! When she found out that Saturn had been brought here, she put in an application and came to visit her and her babies every week (Uh, 8 weeks!!) until it was time to take her home.

Happy tails to Amy and Saturn. Hooray!!
