And the Trivia Tuesday answer is...
🐥🪽
✨Northern Mockingbird Fledglings!✨
We unfortunately see a lot of fledglings that come into the hospital after being found on the ground and mistaken for adults that are in need of rescue, because they can't fly. While it's true that fledglings are often on the ground and can't fly, this is entirely normal! They can't fly because they are learning to fly, and they will spend a few days on the ground hopping around while still being taken care of by their parents. If you've found a bird on the ground that can't fly yet, it's normal to be worried. Observe for a bit, and keep an eye out for adult birds or threatening things like cars or domestic pets. If the adults are around, the bird is in a safe area, and there are no signs of injury or illness like blood or ants, leave the bird be! Rescue is needed if they need to be removed from a dangerous place, if they are truly orphaned, or if they are sick or injured.
