Yesterday, I had to say goodbye to sweet Jackson. 💔🐾

I’m so thankful that I was able to spend the majority of the day with him. I didn’t know it would be our last day together. At my final visit, when I leaned down to give him a kiss goodbye, he stayed in my arms a little longer than usual and gave me a little kiss. At the time, I didn’t realize that he was telling me goodbye. 😢

I had the privilege of being part of Jackson’s life since 2021, spending three days a week with him. In his younger years, we enjoyed our walks, pool time, brushing sessions, games of fetch and, of course, the blueberry game. 🫐 As he got older and slowed down, our time together changed. We spent more quiet moments sitting outside underneath the trees, just enjoying each other’s company.

He would often wait for me at the front door, and in his own special way, he always let me know how much he appreciated our time together.

Being a pet sitter can be incredibly difficult at times, especially when the pets you care for become so much more than clients. They become part of your heart. ❤️

I will miss you, Jackson. I’ll miss seeing you waiting for me, and I’ll especially miss those quiet moments we spent together underneath the trees.
