RESCUE FOSTERS NEEDED

If you’ve ever thought about fostering, this is the perfect time. These little ones are ready for a fresh start—they just need someone to open their home and their heart.
We also have some nice older pups and adult dogs that need fosters as well. Please click on their picture for a description.

**New fosters must participate in a short training prior to fostering. Otherwise, you must be a regular foster. We want you to be prepared! **

Meet Meg! 🐾

Meg is a 3-month-old Dachshund/Boston Terrier mix with BIG energy and an even bigger personality! She loves to run, wrestle, explore, and move FAST!

This opinionated little lady listens well to direction, walks nicely on a leash, and can entertain herself. She LOVES having a dog companion but is still learning boundaries. She’s surprisingly well-mannered when her brothers aren’t pestering her!

Meg may be small, but she’s no purse puppy! She prefers four paws on the ground, although she won’t turn down a warm lap on a chilly day. ❤️

Meg needs an active home with a fenced-in yard, someone home often, and NO shared walls (she’s got plenty to say! 📣). She’s still working on potty and crate training. Playful dogs are a plus, dog-savvy cats are a possibility, and kids 10+.

Hi, I’m Belle! 💕

I’m a one-year-old, 30-pound Cur mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for people and other dogs. Whether we’re heading out for a walk, exploring new places, or spending a relaxing afternoon at home, I’m happiest when I’m with my favorite humans. I especially love being outside, whether that means playing, sniffing around the yard, or soaking up the sunshine in my favorite spot. I’m hoping my forever family has a yard where I can enjoy all my outdoor adventures, and when it’s time to wind down, you can usually find me curled up in a cozy dog bed catching some Z’s!

I’m fully potty trained, love going for walks, and would make the perfect adventure buddy for trips to the dog park, local breweries, or wherever life takes us. I’m also a smart girl who’s very motivated by treats! I already know how to sit, shake, and lie down, and I pick up on new things quickly, especially when I can watch my foster brother show me the ropes. But my favorite thing of all might just be getting pets and cuddles. I’ll melt right into your lap, and when I’m excited, my whole body wiggles with happiness! I can’t wait to find my forever family to love, cuddle, and make memories with. Could that be you?

💔🐾 Little Shaw’s Journey Begins… 🐾❤️

Meet little Shaw, an incredibly sweet puppy who has already endured more than any baby should have to. 💔
At just 5–6 months old, Shaw arrived at Pinellas County Animal Services (PCAS) on October 12, weighing only 5 pounds and suffering from extreme emaciation. He was reportedly found wandering alone through a parking lot as a stray. We can only imagine what this tiny boy has been through, but we know one thing for certain: he deserves so much more. 💕 PCAS sent out a rescue plea, wanting to find a safe place for Shaw to recover. How could we say no?

On October 15th, Shaw was transferred into our care, and immediately was placed in a temporary medical foster home, where he has begun to settle in and receive the care and nourishment he desperately needs. He is currently on a carefully managed re-feeding plan and is doing well.

He still has a journey ahead of him, with plenty of TLC needed as he continues to recover and gain weight. 🐾❤️

Tomorrow, little Shaw will visit with Dr. Conrad for a full checkup so we can learn more about his condition and what he needs moving forward now that he has started gaining weight.

Please keep little Shaw in your thoughts as he begins this journey toward health, happiness, and the life every puppy deserves.

Old Dog, New Life

Remember Leela? All 4 pounds of the 14-15 year old was found roadside in Pasco County. Remarkably, she was alive and after a vet visit it was discovered that she is blind in one eye and 75% blind in the other. Along with being deaf, she is dealing with a 5/6 grade heart murmur, spondylosis, oronasal fistulas and blood clots. We were asked by Pasco County Animal Services to take her as a Hospice, End of Life situation. Basically, keep her as comfortable as we can for whatever time she has left.

However, the "end of life" scenario has now become the "Beginning of a New Life.

Why? Because we found Anna.

After Karey and her 4-legged medical team fostered Leela for 5 days to make sure everything was going well and she wasn't having any issues with her new medication, we received a call from Anna. Anna had just lost her 16 year old Chihuahua who was a Suncoast Animal League Alumni, Buddy. She had also lost her 16 year old Socks 4 months ago.

There was a hole in her heart and in Honor of Buddy, she wanted to help another. I was hesitant to call her about Leela knowing that she had just lost her beloved Buddy and Socks… and Leela was nearing the same fate. I told Anna all the details and before I finished saying "please don't feel obligated to take this on," She said "Yes, Absolutely"!

Leela is now Poppi. She goes to work with Anna every day at Stinnette Law in downtown Dunedin where Anna is the Marketing and Operations manager. Andrew Stinnette's Law firm has been a very long time supporter and they have all chipped in to make Poppi's time with them the "time of her life'.

Besides giving her all the love and attention she deserves, Poppi has an entire new wardrobe and fancy new convertable style Beach Wagon so she can travel around town in style. She even has visitors that stop by the office to hold her.

I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks and Poppi is taking it all in. When asked how Poppi is doing overall, she summed it up by saying "Absolutely Amazing."

🐾❤️ MEET STUBBY TAIL FRED ❤️🐾

Fred may not have a long tail to show off his happiness, but don’t worry—this boy has mastered the art of the b***y wiggle! 🍑😂 Add his fabulous smile and happy-go-lucky personality, and you’ve got one seriously lovable pup!

Freddie is a 10-month-old Cur/Boxer/Hound mix weighing in at a solid 59 pounds. He’s handsome, playful, athletic, and full of puppy energy! This is a zoomie-loving kind of guy who needs an active family and a 6-foot fenced backyard where he can safely run, play, and show off his athletic moves. 🏃‍♂️🌳

But Fred isn’t all action and adventure! Beneath that strong, energetic exterior is a sweet, affectionate lovebug who will happily climb right into your lap whenever he gets the chance. He’s comical, fun-loving, and sure to keep you laughing. ❤️

🐶 A little more about Freddie:

✅ Dog-friendly and people-friendly
✅ Good with kids, although he’s still learning to keep his enthusiasm in check!
✅ Potty trained
✅ Approximately 59 pounds of pure personality
✅ An adorable stubby tail that makes every b***y wiggle even more special!

Fred has already overcome a hurricane, but his past holds another heartbreaking chapter. 💔 If you look closely, you’ll notice several scars on his back. These are cigarette burns left by someone who abused him.

Those scars will likely stay with Fred forever, but they don’t define who he is. Despite what someone did to him, this remarkable boy continues to greet the world with a smile, a wiggly backside, and so much love to give. ⭐️ His forgiving spirit and joyful personality are a beautiful reminder of just how resilient dogs can be.

One important note: Fred is not a fan of cats, so a feline-free home is best for this handsome guy.

Fred is looking for an active, loving forever family who will appreciate his playful nature, give him room to run, and shower him with all the affection he deserves. He’s ready to trade his difficult past for a future filled with adventures, belly rubs, couch cuddles, and people who will love him exactly as he is. 🏡❤
