You know your pet better than anyone. If you notice your pet behaving in a way that's unusual for him/her, you may have picked up on a subtle sign of a real problem. Call your veterinarian or an animal emergency center near you. By asking a few questions a veterinarian or technician should be able to tell you whether you should bring your pet in immediately, or whether you may wait for an examination during your veterinarian's regular office hours. Definite emergencies: There are times when you won't need to call first. If you notice any of the following, take your pet in immediately for emergency care:

*Your pet has had some type of trauma such as being hit by a car or a blunt object or fallen more than a few feet.

*Your pet is lethargic

*Your pet has been vomiting or has had diarrhea repeatedly

*You suspect any broken bones

*Your pet is having trouble breathing or has something stuck in his/her throat

*Your pet has or is having a seizure

*Your pet is bleeding from the eyes, nose, mouth or there is blood in his/her urine or f***s

*You think your pet may have ingested something toxic such as antifreeze, rat poison, medication not prescribed for him/her, or a household cleaner

*Your pet, particularly a male cat is straining to urinate or is unable to

*Your pet shows signs of extreme pain such as whining, shaking, and refusing to socialize

*Your pet collapses or suddenly can't stand.

*Your pet begins bumping into things or suddenly becomes disoriented.

*You can see irritation or injury to your pet's eyes, or he/she suddenly seems to blink

*Your pet's abdomen is swollen and hard to the touch and/or he/she is gagging

*You notice hives or facial swelling

Sometimes forever means forever…
Many many years ago an orange cat was dropped on our door step. Sick, tired and nearing death, Dr. Stanton applied her blessed hands and soon following he was again vibrant, healthy and our spicy orange boy who loved to wear his Sunday best every day. The nurses grew fond quickly and Dr. Stanton made sure he was always safe.
Finn became a mascot of AA and was loved endlessly.
Today a team of “his” nurses and Dr. Kushubar set Finn free.
His past didn’t define him and all he knew in the end was unconditional love.
See you on the other side, Finny boy. Thank you for years of comfort, head butts and truest friend energy.
