🐾 Florida Animal Friend Spay/Neuter Grant — Funds Still Available! 🐾
Thanks to the generous support of Animal Friend, we still have funds to help pet owners who might otherwise be unable to afford sterilization services.

💙 The grant covers: ✔️ Spay/Neuter Surgery ✔️ Rabies Vaccination (Owners are only responsible for any additional vaccines, and the cost of a pre-op exam ONLY if your pet falls under the *high-risk category below).

⏳ Funds are limited and will expire once depleted. We encourage you to reach out as soon as possible!

⚠️ *Terms apply: Pre-op exams are still required for higher-risk pets. This includes senior pets, brachycephalic breeds (those with flat faces), obese pets, in-heat or pregnant dogs and cats, and those with a history of medical issues.

A huge shoutout to our dedicated Cat Socializer volunteers. 💕 Your gentle hands and calm presence help our cats feel safe and confident. When some cats are nervous around new people, our volunteers patiently help them build trust and prepare for their new homes.

Every dog deserves their moment in the spotlight — and on July 12th, ours are getting exactly that. Don't miss the most important dog show you'll attend this summer. 🐾

We've teamed up with Bunnell Library @ the Nexus Center for the 1st Annual Dog Show, where our adoptable pups will strut their stuff Westminster-style!

Come meet them, cheer them on, and maybe find your new best friend. Refreshments and snacks will be available, so bring the whole family for a fun afternoon you won't want to miss!

This is Mable, and she's got a whole lot of love saved up for the right person. 🖤

She spent over two years as the longest resident at her previous shelter — a title no dog should ever have to hold. But through all of it, she never stopped showing up with that wagging tail and those ears — one up, one down — adorably unique, just like her.

Since arriving at FHS, she's been thriving in playgroups and has made it her personal mission to rid our yard of every lizard on the property. (She's working on it.)

She's 4 years old, 65 lbs, affectionate, loyal to her core, and ready to finally have a place to call home. She'd do best in an adult-only home with no cats — somewhere quiet and steady where she can finally relax and just... be loved.

You Can Help the Homeless Florida Pet Population

Did you know Florida is 34th in the country for pet ownership? This means fewer households here have pets compared to most other states. Still, Florida has a huge pet population, with 9.6 million cats and over 500,000 dogs. Sadly, many of these animals are homeless, either living on the streets or filling up shelters. Since 2022, more cats and dogs have been entering Florida shelters, making the situation even more urgent.

Animal shelters like ours are striving to offer care for the growing number of animals. Pets without homes face serious dangers, including predators, disease, bad weather, and insufficient food. Still, there is hope because people can make a difference. Whether you take direct action or make small changes in your daily life, every effort helps.

🐾 TNR Now Happening Every Wednesday in June! 🐾

We’re excited to announce that our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program will take place every Wednesday throughout the month of June!

📅 Next TNR Date: Wednesday, June 3, 2026
⏰ Drop off: 8:30 AM
📍 Flagler Humane Society (1 Shelter Drive)

🗒️ For a $40 fee, each cat will receive spay/neuter surgery, an ear notch, and a rabies vaccination.

💛 TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) works:
✔️ Reduces the number of litters over time
✔️ Helps control community cat populations
✔️ Improves the overall health of the cats
✔️ Saves lives right here in our community

We need your help to make a difference. If you spot community cats nearby, consider trapping them and bringing them to us on Wednesdays in June.

There's something truly special about watching a child's face light up when they hold an animal for the first time. 🥹🐾

Camp Paw Print at Flagler Humane Society gives kids in grades 3rd–8th the chance to connect with animals, learn about compassion and care, and experience a summer they'll talk about for years to come.

From hands-on animal experiences and surprise guests to arts & crafts, outdoor games, and a ferry boat field trip to Fort Matanzas — every day is a new adventure. 🐱⛵🌿
