Gilligan is a 6-year-old male. He was a part of the hoarding case and his owner had passed away before they could be reunited. He is very affectionate with people and does well with other cats. 🐱

Sebastian is a 5-year-old male who came in as a stray. He is super friendly with people and other dogs. He is deaf but that does not stop him from playing, going on walks, and spending time with people. 🐕

Velvet is a 1-year-old male Rex rabbit that is a super affectionate and gentle boy. He enjoys spending time with his rabbit neighbor, zooming around the room, and cuddling with his people. 🐰

Over the past two months we have been privileged to care for more than 140 animals rescued from extreme hoarding cases in Martin County.

Our normal operations did not slow down, and hundreds of other animals continued to enter our shelter.

We cannot accomplish our daily life-saving efforts without the community, and the overwhelming support we've received - locally, statewide, and nationally - has been humbling. We are so grateful to everyone wanting to make a difference for the animals in our shelter. 🙏

In order to properly care for the hoarded animals and provide them with a pathway forward, we needed to create room by transferring out some of our current animals.

It is available again now and we are working to make sure we capture all of the submitted and attempted applications.

We truly appreciate the time and care that applicants put into their submissions. Our staff will thoughtfully review each application and make placement decisions with the goal of finding the best possible match for every dog and adopter.

Please note that not all of the dogs are ready for adoption right now as we are still assessing and treating them.

If you are selected, our staff will contact you for a meeting. Those not selected will also be notified.
