Thus, Arthur and his five-pound adopted poodle, Buddy, co-founded American Dog Rescue to place healthy dogs in permanent homes that are the right fit for the animal and its family. American Dog Rescue is a tax-exempt, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to finding a home for every adoptable dog in the United States. ADR is unique in its commitment that 100% of all donations go to the animals.

It doesn't have to be a hot day. A 70-degree afternoon feels mild to you. Inside a parked car with the windows cracked, it reaches 89 in ten minutes.

Your dog starts closer to the danger line than you do. Her normal body temperature is already 101. She cools herself almost entirely by panting — pulling air across her tongue. When the air inside the car is hotter than her body, the system stops working. There's nothing left to cool with.

Cracking the windows changes the interior temperature by less than four degrees. The glass traps heat faster than the gap releases it.

🐾 The rule:

- Above 65 degrees — the dog stays home. Not in the car with water. Not with the windows cracked. Not with the engine running. Home.

The ten minutes you planned is the twenty minutes you actually take. She doesn't have the difference 🐾

We also honor the loyal dogs who stood beside them with courage, love, and devotion.

Their service, sacrifice, and unwavering hearts will never be forgotten.

Today, we pause with gratitude for every hero - two-legged and four-legged.

A car in a sunny parking lot can hit deadly temperatures in under ten minutes.

A dog locked inside has no way out and no way to call for help. Police and firefighters arrive and can see the animal in distress.

Should they be able to break that window without waiting for permission? In most places, the law is still unclear. Dogs deserve better than that.

Should they have the right? Yes or No? 🐾
