EVERYONE, PLEASE WELCOME MAUI JAMES.

Our newest little gremlim ,,,,,,I’m sorry, we mean Frenchie has officially entered the Space Coast Frenchie Rescue group chat.
Maui James is 4 years old and, from what we can tell from his records, he’s a Cancer ♋️. So he has feelings. Lots of them. Probably about food.
Maui James is an owner surrender due to personal circumstances. And before anyone heads to the comments with questions, assumptions, or pitchforks: DON’T.
We’re not sharing his family’s personal circumstances, and we’re not here to attack people who make the difficult decision to surrender. Sometimes life happens. We are here for the dogs AND we can still have compassion for the humans who love them enough to make sure they’re safe.
Now back to the important matter: WHO IS MAUI JAMES?

According to his former family, this 4-year-old gentleman:
• Loves cuddles
• Snores like he pays the mortgage
• LOVES car rides
• Has a full-blown guard dog complex despite being 23 lbs
• Sleeps under the covers and will literally paw at you until you let him in
• Loves walks, but prefers them short and when it’s cooler
• Guzzles his food like someone just announced the buffet is closing
• Does NOT appreciate anyone messing with his food, so we’ll be working with him on that
• Loves napping all day, which frankly makes him management material
• Enjoys laying in the sun
• Likes to roughhouse and play
Basically, Maui James is 4 years old, a Cancer, and enjoys eating, sleeping, yelling, riding around in the car, sunbathing, and demanding access to your blankets.
So essentially, a retired Florida man trapped inside a French Bulldog with the emotional depth of a teenage girl.

Meet our newest intake, Ricky Bobby. ❤️

Ricky Bobby came to us today from Orange County Animal Services after being found as a stray, severely emaciated and with gray gums. His condition was serious enough that he was sent to the emergency vet, where he received a blood transfusion. He is now on multiple medications as he begins his recovery.

What makes his story even more heartbreaking is that Ricky Bobby had been posted as missing. His owner later contacted the shelter and ultimately surrendered him into their care.

Despite everything he has been through, this boy is incredibly sweet.

Ricky Bobby has a long road ahead of him, and right now our focus is simply on getting him healthy, comfortable, and stronger one day at a time.

Gracie 💔

Gracie is a 4-year-old English Bulldog who’s been through a lot. Her original owner passed away, she was then adopted, and after an entire year with that family, she was returned to us.

The Gracie who came back is scared, fearful, and anxious. We don’t know exactly what happened while she was away, but we do know she needs someone willing to be patient and help her feel safe again.

She’s your typical stubborn, opinionated Bulldog who likes things HER way. 😂 She can be picky about her dog friends and will need proper introductions. While her previous foster had a house full of kids, we were told by her most recent family that she does not like children. To be safe, we are looking for an adult-only home.

Because of limited foster availability, Gracie currently spends most of her days at doggy daycare. She is stressed and overwhelmed, and what she really needs is a home where she can decompress, feel safe, and have someone willing to work with her.

Gracie is not asking for perfect. She’s asking for a second chance.

Gracie needs a foster or adopter. If you are an approved applicant and you think you can help Gracie, please reach out to us via messenger. ❤️

We are angry.

Because Trooper never had a damn chance at life.

He deserved to grow up. To play. To be spoiled. To sleep in someone’s bed and grow old with a family who loved him.

Instead, we were left trying to pick up the pieces.

This is the reality of irresponsible breeding. Rescues, veterinarians, and families are left heartbroken while the people producing poorly bred dogs have already collected their money and moved on.

Breeding is more than putting two dogs together and selling puppies. Health testing, genetics, structure, and responsible breeding matter.

If you are buying a puppy, ask questions. Demand health testing. Research the breeder. And if they can’t give you answers, walk away.

Trooper deserved better.
