On September 5th, we’re trading in the barbells for blackjack, roulette, craps… and dogs in tuxedos.
Join us from 6–9 PM for a fun, casino-inspired evening supporting Touch of Grey Rescue. The event is completely free to attend and donation-based, so come play, hang out, meet some dapper pups, and support a great cause. We will have drinks and food provided!

🐾 Teach Avoidance, Not Reaction

One of the most valuable options we can give a dog is the ability to disengage and avoid.

Whether the trigger is excitement, stress, frustration, or prey drive, a dog’s first instinct may be to react—chase, lunge, bark, or fixate. Instead, we can teach another response:

Notice it. Disengage. Create distance. Move on.

Avoidance gives dogs a practical alternative to reacting. With repetition, we can build a dog that is better able to make calm, safe choices when faced with situations that might otherwise trigger an unwanted response.

Sometimes successful training isn’t about teaching a dog how to handle an interaction—it’s teaching them that they don’t need to interact at all.

Bart is a senior dog that was pulled from the local shelter as a hospice situation due to cripling arthirtus and other medical problems.

As Bart settled into The Landings at he has received therapies and is thriving! He even now joins in on ALL of our training sessions by choice.

Bart is proof that not only "can" an old dog learn new tricks, they actually LOVE it!! #

Through our partnership with Riley’s Rescue of Brevard, we’re able to connect Capone with his new family, while providing support throughout the placement process and beyond. We believe responsible placement doesn’t end when the adoption papers are signed. We’re here before, during, and after placement to help ensure each match has the best possible chance at becoming a lifelong success. ❤️

We’re also proud to continue our annual meetings with Capone’s adoptive family in Marathon Key, FL.🌴🐾

We have our house dog 🤎

This big lug was born on February 7, 2019. Touch of Grey Rescue was officially incorporated on February 11, 2019…just four days later. Once again the stars align 💫

Now, 7 years later…Rocky Balboa is our official house dog, brand ambassador, and future therapy dog. We will celebrate our birthdays together as he helps share our mission, support our Golden Souls and Pawsitive Pals programs, and welcome big dogs, little dogs, sick dogs, special-needs dogs, and old dogs to The Landing. With his happy wiggle butt, and predictable presence, Rocky will help every dog who walks through our doors feel safe, loved, and at home.

A huge thank you to Ambassadors Dog Training for finding this incredible boy, personally delivering him to us, and sponsoring his therapy dog certification and training. Stay tuned as we share his journey toward becoming an official therapy dog. 🤎🐾

We are also incredibly grateful to Eau Gallie Veterinary Hospital for generously sponsoring his first veterinary visit. Once again, our community comes through. ❤️‍🩹
