If you drive 2 hours to check out a spot for frogs and find none, but get to watch a pod of Dolphins swim less than 10 feet from you...... does that go in the win or loss column?

Personal opinion, I'd drive 2 hours for the experience without the chance of frogs 🤷‍♂️

Alright guys, I just wanted to share this little bit of fun. I have seen a variation of sizes on the Barking Treefrog tadpoles since this all started, however, the spawn that is morphing over currently has sent me some fun. There have been a few of notable sizes. This guy takes the cake but isn't all that much bigger than the other few. He will definitely be held back for future projects... who knows, maybe hes the link to making Whites Treefrog sized Barking Treefrogs 🤷‍♂️🤣

Pictured is Frank the Tank and an average size individual of the species.... im thinking you guys will be able to tell the difference. Both froglets are in the exact same stage of development.

If anyone is needing something to watch and just mellow out for a moment, enjoy the feeding frenzy of the Chubby frog hoarde, Kaloula pulchra.

I just want to point out that this is actually their SECOND feeding within the last 12 hours. If you want to know why they're Chubby.... now you know. 🤣

These guys can eat large crickets, but its not natural. They naturally take in lots of smaller prey items as opposed to less but larger. It may seem unimportant, but their digestive tract is not setup to properly digest large masses, which can cause major health issues such as internal bacterial infections. It is important to understand and match as closely as possible our animals natural behaviors to prevent tragedy.

I was really hoping to be able to record this in a more controlled environment, but apparently the males are done. This was a bucket list species for me, and I took a 4.5 hour drive EIGHT TIMES over the course of the last few months before finally finding them. And I do have some tadpoles from the females that laid eggs on the way home. These are definitely one of the top of the list cutest sounding frogs out there.

For those that dont know what theyre watching, allow me to introduce you to Hyla avivoca, or the Bird Voiced Treefrog! (Also the frog that is currently the banner on my page)

A special shoutout to Manfred Dolkemeyer because had he not requested this species from me, I would have never even known of their existence... we will now be breeding them so many others can enjoy both their beauty and call from quality animals bred in captivity!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Frog lovers beware, cuteness overload!

This is our largest CB Barking Treefrog baby! He (she?) Is growing like a w**d! We have about a dozen or so not TOO far behind. For those already on the waiting list, we are almost ready to start reaching out. For those not on the waiting list yet, I recommend doing so because we will likely run out of babies long before the list ends, even with 4 separate spawns growing currently! I LOVE that he doesn't "turn his spots off" ever. The others stay in "green mode" most of the time
