Happy Feel-Good Friday! ❤️🐾
This week's Feel-Good Friday is a double feature celebrating two HSPS alumni who found not only their forever home, but each other.
Back in 2024, Casper arrived at the Humane Society as a stray in need of a second chance. Around the same time, a wonderful couple was grieving the loss of two beloved dogs and wasn't sure when they would be ready to open their hearts again. Then they met Casper.
On February 19, 2024, they adopted him, and they instantly knew he was the perfect fit. Casper settled into his new life quickly, showering his family with the loyalty, intelligence, and love that heelers are known for.
A year later, the family experienced another heartbreaking loss when their cherished Chihuahua passed away. Casper suddenly found himself without a canine companion, and his family could tell he was lonely.
Then came Sadie.
Sadie arrived at HSPS as a stray with seven puppies, affectionately known as "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." While many people were interested in her adorable puppies, this couple couldn't stop thinking about Sadie herself. They saw a devoted mother who had worked hard raising her family and deserved a chance to be cared for.
As they put it, "She needs a break."
On January 12, 2026,they adopted Sadie and gave her the loving home she had earned. The very first night, Sadie made herself completely at home, curling up in bed with her new parents.
Today, Casper and Sadie are inseparable. Casper absolutely adores Sadie, and Sadie treats Casper as if he were one of her own puppies. They spend their days together, sleep alongside their owners at night, and enjoy a life filled with love, comfort, and plenty of spoiling.
Stories like Casper and Sadie's remind us that adoption doesn't just save one life—it can change an entire family. Thank you to their amazing adopters for opening their hearts to two deserving dogs and giving them the happy ending they deserved. ❤️🐾
