Today is National Make A Dog’s Day, and we’re celebrating with and ! 🚗 Through Subaru Loves Pets, they’re helping older and overlooked dogs find homes, and we’re so grateful for their support and generous grant to POMDR.

Hatchi is one of those dogs who deserves a second look. Big senior pups often wait longer for a family, even when they’re as sweet and easygoing as he is. He’s polite with adults, kids, other dogs, and even cats, and he loves handing out kisses. When his people come home, he greets them with a happy Husky song.

His perfect day starts with a car ride, head out the window, to a good hike or walk. 🌲 After that, he’s happy to curl up on a soft blanket for the evening. He’ll need a securely fenced yard and daily outings to keep him happy and safe.

Make a dog’s day by adopting, fostering, or supporting a senior dog. Every bit helps us keep senior dogs and senior people together.

Adele is a quiet little lady looking for a warm lap and a person to follow from room to room. She only gets chatty when she’s excited, and her happy noises are the silliest. 🐾

She came back to us after her guardian could no longer care for her, so a calm home with no cats would suit her best. Adele has kidney disease and needs weekly fluids and daily medications, and she’ll repay her caregiver with endless sweetness.

When Fifa came to us from a local shelter, her family hadn’t been able to cover the leg amputation she needed. Shortly after she arrived, we learned she was expecting six little surprises. 🐣
Her puppies turn 8 weeks old this week, and three of them have already found their people. The other three boys are still waiting. They’ve been raised around plenty of dogs and people, so they’re social, confident, and ready for a home of their own.

🐾 Diego Martinez is the sleepiest of the bunch. After a little playtime, he’ll ask to be scooped up so he can nap in your lap.

🐾 Dani Rojas is a devoted people-pleaser who already knows his name. He loves sticking close to your side and handing out puppy kisses.

🐾 Jamie Tart is the busy one. He chases and chews his toys all day and would love an active home with lots of play.

According to their DNA test, they’re mostly Chihuahua, Pomeranian, and Poodle, with a whole mix of other breeds sprinkled in. If one of these boys has caught your eye, read his full profile on our website and fill out an adoption questionnaire. 🏡

Osmosis Jones has his days mapped out: sleep in beside his person, eat breakfast on time, soak up some sun, hit the park, then settle in for lap time until bed. 🌞

He’s calm and confident, and once he picks his person, his favorite place is wherever they are.

He enjoys slow, sniffy walks, but he’s just as happy riding in a dog sling. His foster says his purse companion skills are top notch. 👜 He’s good in the car, easy around other dogs, and didn’t even blink at pet birds.

A senior dog like Osmosis Jones is a natural fit for a senior person who wants a loyal little sidekick for errands and sunny afternoons. 🐾

Jasper treats every new face like someone he's been waiting all day to meet. 🐾 He'll trail you around the house hoping you sit down soon, since that's when the cuddling starts.

He's good on leash, loves a car ride, and gets along with dogs and teenagers alike. He isn't big on nonstop zoomies, so an afternoon walk keeps him plenty happy.

Tamagotchi is named after the '90s digital pet, and he'd happily take the same amount of attention. When he spots you across the room, his tail goes first and the rest of him follows 🎮

He's friendly with other dogs and very excited about life at the moment. Our vet team thinks he'll mellow a bit after his neuter, but we hope he keeps the wiggle.

She's sweet with dogs and cats, barely makes a peep, and hasn't has been great at her foster's. She's on a vet-supervised diet right now, and she'd like everyone to know it's going terribly. A slower-paced senior would be her perfect match.
