The Salty Dog Great stuff for dogs and people!

ADOPTED !!!

CJ is an 11-year-old female Blenheim Cavalier. She’s a sweet, gentle soul and looking for a special person/family to show her kindness and unconditional love. Sadly, before coming into rescue, she hadn’t had either for a long time and was very mistreated.

CJ spends most of her time resting in her kennel, but she really perks up when out exploring in the yard. This sweet girl likes gentle head and neck scratches, but she doesn’t seek out attention. She likes short walks around the neighborhood but needs you to carry her outside to get started. A lot of things are scary for CJ, and so she’s happiest at home where it’s quiet and she feels safe.

CJ has been gaining weight and is feeling better since getting much-needed dental work done. She’s been diagnosed with a grade 5 heart murmur by the cardiologist and started on a twice daily heart medication (pimobendan). She’s a small Cavalier and weighs about 14 pounds. Her beautiful Cavalier coat is growing back in and she’s looking much healthier. She’s house trained with regular breaks and will let you know she needs to go out by pacing around.

CJ will do best in an adult home since kids can be a scary for her. She needs a fenced yard so she doesn’t have to go potty on leash, and so she can enjoy her safe outdoor space. She’s looking for a special home with a lot of patience and people who understand dogs that are anxious and slow to trust. She’s okay with gentle-natured dogs of similar size.

CJ is currently being fostered with another female Cavalier from the same home. While the girls are not particularly bonded (don’t snuggle, follow each other around, etc.), they could be placed together should a family like to adopt them both. Please see Brook’s posting to learn more about her: https://www.cavalierrescueusa.org/cavalier/brook-in-kenmore-wa/

CJ is posted for Cavalier Rescue USA. CJ is being fostered in Kenmore, WA.
If you’d like to welcome CJ (or both CJ and Brook) to your family, please complete the online application (if you haven’t previously) and email rescue coordinator Melissa Cincotta at [email protected] so she knows to consider your application.

This is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.

ADOPTED

Starting our day off with another share of Koolaid. She has been waiting so long for an adopter. Koolaid is a cross post for Adopt-A-Pet of Shelton Washington. All paws crossed for Koolaid!

Koolaid is a 12-year-old, 80 pound Jindo/PitBull mix who is a really sweet girl. Koolaid has an expressive and smiling face with a tri color coat.

Koolaid and her best friend Zeus were brought to Adopt a Pet in Shelton when their loving, lifetime owner unexpectedly passed away. The pair had been posted for adoption but while waiting for an adopter, Zeus passed away. The folks at the shelter report that Koolaid is in good spirits, all things considered and the hope is that Koolaid will finally find a forever home to go to.

Koolaid has mobility issues. She has weak hind legs and must have a home where there are no stairs. Because of Koolaid's mobility issues, she uses a ramp to get in and out of vehicles. Koolaid is extremely smart, and can open all doors and gates. She will need a home that is secure; one she cannot escape from.

Koolaid likes to spend her days lounging around on several beds, cuddle with her people, and embrace mellow family life. She is friendly, smart, loving, and a great companion dog. In her former home, she loved the neighborhood younger children who were gentle, at least 5 year old and older.

It is unknown how Koolaid would react to cats or small animals. She walks great on a leash at a slow pace. Her best life would mean a home with a shaded patio and a fenced yard where she could enjoy rolling in the grass. Koolaid must have a secure fenced yard to keep her safe and happy.

This nice girl has had some hard times lately. Koolaid needs a home with someone who will be gentle, able to afford her veterinary needs and give her the time she needs to acclimate to and feel secure in her new life. She is certainly ready for her happily ever after!

Koolaid is posted for Adopt A Pet in Shelton, WA. Their contact information is:

Tonka has been at the shelter, waiting almost a year now for a home! Her friends at the shelter tell us that she has been through the shelter a few times over the years, sadly, through no fault of her own. Her last adopter passed away. Wouldn't it be wonderful to help Tonka find a home where she can finally stay forever?!

Tonka is an 11 year old female who weighs about 60 pounds. She loves to go on walks and play with toys. She can be particular about other dogs, and does not care for small dogs or cats. She does have allergies (chicken for one) but is otherwise very healthy.

Tonak is posted for the North Beach PAWS in Hoquiam, WA. (Ocean Shores). The shelter has a thorough adoption process, you can read more about this on their website: northbeachpaws.org

Please call Nanette at 360-660-4661 or email [email protected] if you have any questions regarding adopting Tonka. One must email to request an adoption application to be considered.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
