Welp. I have been humbled. 🤣

Today was my and Pip's second herding lesson! Pip did well with Kelly and I decided to step into the pen to give it a try. I sucked. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Kelly gave me good instructions that totally left my brain the moment I stepped in there. That is the benefit of getting into dog sports though. I get to be a learner again and remember how our clients feel when they're first starting out. 💙

Time will tell if we get any good at this herding thing. And by we, I mean me. 🤣

Pippi the Brave had her first official herding lesson today! She did so well and definitely enjoyed herself. 🥰🥰🥰 We have A LOT to learn about this sport, but it may be her favorite! I think she may rank dock ahead of this for now, but once she truly understands the game, I think herding might win. 🤣🥰

Our hearts are broken, but at least we know that Cali is back with her big bro. She was not responding to treatment and we decided it was time. I already miss her greeting us at the door. And meow shouting at us when she wants attention. And seeing her curled up and content snoozing in the sun room. And trying to steal food from the dogs while we're training. She was such a character. Her and Howlett's memory will live on through our courses at least. They always had to make an appearance somewhere in those. 💙

Love on your animals my friend. They always leave us far too soon.

Going from celebrating Pippi's 1st birthday to realizing Cali won't likely have another one has been quite the blow. She's drugged up and napping now, but she had been off the last 2 days, started refusing food & water, & was moving oddly. Got her checked today and found she has kidney disease stage 4. 😭

We'll see how she does over the next week & if she stabilizes, we'll move into the next phase of kitty hospice.

Def can use all the good vibes and love right now. 💔
