An uplifting update on our two medical fosters. Both had appointments at Elk Creek Vet today.

Bear had his follow up vet appointment today for a recently diagnosed auto immune disorder and is making tremendous progress. The lesions on his skin are healing remarkably and he will continue on the current meds to curb future outbreaks. He is truly on the mend.

Phoebe also had her follow appointment, her vitals are good, gums pink and she still needs to be on a liquid diet for the next 4 days and gradually try a very thin slurry. She gained an ounce which is fantastic progress. Thanks for the prayers and good vibes sent their way.

We are thrilled with their progress.

In the world of animal rescue, it's not uncommon to hear the phrase 'it's just a cat' or 'it's just a dog,' but for us, every life is precious.

We have to make tough decisions, prioritizing the needs of many over the needs of one.

Recently, we rescued Phoebe and Holden, two very special kittens who captured our hearts. When Phoebe's health took a turn for the worse on Saturday , we rushed her to the emergency room where she had an overnight to get her stabilized. The testing that was done was not definitive and she is on a liquid diet.

Although we couldn't afford further testing, the vet was confident that Phoebe could return to her foster home, reunite with her brother Holden and we'll continue to monitor her condition.

We're committed to giving Phoebe a chance at a happy life, because to us, she's not just a cat – she's a beloved individual deserving of love, care, and compassion.

Our Phoebe was in distress again today requiring another urgent visit to the vet. Send her good vibes and healing prayers. We are fighting for you.

Before we got her, she had been eating kibble which her system cannot digest. We thought what had gotten rid of all the intact kibble in her system but today she regurgitated one piece of completely intact kibble at the vet.

It’s very important not to feed kitten any type of kibble unless it’s she softened and mushed until the kitten is 8 weeks to be on the safe side. By six weeks, it’s ok to give softened kibble but I observe if it causes any distress.

Our sweet Bear was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder which causes his skin to blister and intense itching.

Pemphigus: A group of autoimmune skin conditions that cause large pustules, crusty lesions, and ulcers, usually appearing first around the face, ears, and paw pads.

To add to this, his adopters had a life altering situation and he was retained to us this week.

However Bear landed with a very experienced foster and he is thriving. His adopters provided him with the best specialist care.

We need to continue addressing our sweet boy needs. Our cuddly bug deserves your support and healing prayers. Donations can also be called in directly to Elk Creek Vet in Oxford for Angie’s Stray Fund.

Bear’s story breaks my heart.

This good boy had been through so much. He was adopted then returned through no fault of his own, his humans had life changes.

Yesterday his current adopters let me know that he needs to be returned again. Same situation, they had a devastating life change and have to move and they sold their home and gave to move.

Bear also developed an autoimmune disorder but medication is helping a lot.

We need to get Bear ASAP. Please let us know if you can foster him. We need a miracle and this boy needs a break.

In a truly uplifting turn of events, our prompt response has given two adorable kittens a second chance at life.

Following their discovery with upper respiratory infections, our dedicated foster caregiver stepped in to provide crucial care, and presently the smaller kitten is thriving and self-sufficient in eating.

This remarkable progress underscores the profound impact we can have on the lives of these vulnerable animals. A single day can indeed be the turning point between life and death.

With a critical appointment scheduled for Holden and Phoebe today , we are counting on the kindness of donors to support their road to recovery. Our fund at Elk Creek had a credit of $5.15 therefore we need your help.

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to creating a brighter future for these precious animals.

Donations can be made directly to Angie's Stray Fund at Elk Creek Vet in Oxford by calling (610) 467-1488

One of our coordinators came across two adorable kittens and knew they deserved a brighter future.

We have another request to help 15 more kittens, but we need foster care for these two ASAP.

By providing a safe haven and vital vet care, we can create a better tomorrow with fewer kittens in need next season.

We also need donations to provide vet care and supplies.

Right now there are hundreds of kittens trying to survive upper respiratory infections and everyone has no room. Only you can help save these little lives.
