My 2-year-old is the first horse I’ve ever started completely from the ground up all by myself, and I couldn’t be more proud of him. ❤️🐴

So far, he’s only had one ride, and that was in a borrowed saddle. My personal saddle is ancient and definitely not in the best shape, so winning a new saddle would mean so much to us as we continue this journey together.

I’m hoping to have him ready for his under-saddle show debut next spring, and having a nice saddle for that special milestone would be absolutely amazing. 🥹❤️

This horse is truly incredible and deserves the very best. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for us and all the memories we’ll make along the way!

These Haven Hills riders have been prepping all week to show at the Iowa State Fair. Their classes start this Tuesday. Today they had a stall poster party to create their stall decor❤️

Congratulations to our very first border, Elsie Thiel. Elsie is a hard-working and kind equestrian. She puts in the time to ensure that her horses are ready for Fair every year. We are very grateful to have her and her family as part of our barn family. Looking forward to seeing this pair compete at State Fair!

These photos are where the story of Haven Hills Ranch began.

On July 5, 2016, Maggie Dale (16) gave Ethan Krieger (9) a few riding lessons on his sweet horse, Buster (34), in our dry lot. At the time, we were simply looking for someone to help Ethan gain a little more confidence in the saddle.

That small beginning turned into something so much bigger. Ethan and Buster went on to win Overall Novice High-Point Champion at the Johnson County Fair; but also, those first lessons planted the seed for what would become Haven Hills Ranch and Maggie Dale Horsemanship.

What started as one teenager sharing her knowledge with one young rider has grown into a place where hundreds of people have discovered confidence, courage, and the incredible connection that comes from spending time with horses.

We're so grateful for where this journey began and for everyone who has been part of the Haven Hills Ranch story.
