Miles To Freedom Animal Rescue is a non-profit, no kill animal rescue organization. Our mission is t

Our mission is to save dogs from overpopulated shelters and areas across the southern parts of the United States. We are dedicated to finding quality, loving, committed forever homes for each animal we bring into our care and provide a better future for them and our adopters. We follow a comprehensive adoption process which includes an extensive adoption application to find a good match and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. All dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all age appropriate vaccinations and proper veterinary care prior to going to their new home. We have a wonderful foster base to help house, train and love our dogs while they await to find their perfect humans. We assist dogs in need without regards to age, breed, or ease of placement and we strive to keep our operating costs low so that funds brought into our rescue go directly back into the care of our animals and our mission to save more.

🐾🐱 SPECIAL DELIVERY TO THE MEow Lounge! 🐱🐾

We dropped off some sweet kitties at the Meow Lounge today, and we couldn’t be more grateful knowing they’re in such wonderful hands! ❤️

We are truly blessed to have Anne and her amazing crew in our corner! Their love, dedication, and compassion for these cats is something special.

These lucky kitties get to enjoy the most amazing temporary home, filled with love, comfort, attention, and plenty of spoiling while they wait for their forever families to find them. 🥹💕

Rescue takes a village, and having people like Anne and her team by our side makes all the difference.

🚨🐾 CREED NEEDS OUR HELP! 🐾🚨

Our sweet boy Creed is struggling, and unfortunately, we still don’t have answers as to why. 💔

About two weeks ago, Creed was seen by our veterinarian after experiencing frequent vomiting and very minimal bowel movements. X-rays revealed that his colon was completely full of stool, but thankfully, there was no obvious sign of a foreign body.

Creed was started on antacids and several other medications and underwent 10 days of treatment. During that time, he showed improvement, and we were hopeful we were finally getting somewhere!

Unfortunately, since finishing his medications, Creed has started declining again. 😢

He’s continuing to lose weight, and we are becoming increasingly concerned.

Today, Creed returned to our veterinarian for another round of X-rays. The good news? His X-rays looked normal! The bad news? That means we still don’t know what’s making our boy sick.

Our veterinarian suspects there may be an underlying digestive issue, so we are moving forward with a complete blood workup and additional gastrointestinal testing.

We are investigating conditions such as EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which affects the body’s ability to properly digest food and absorb nutrients, along with possible food sensitivities or other gastrointestinal issues.

❤️‍🩹 WE JUST WANT OUR BOY TO FEEL BETTER!

Between his previous veterinary visit and today’s appointment, Creed’s medical bills have already exceeded $1,000! And with additional testing underway, those expenses are continuing to climb.

As a completely volunteer-run rescue, unexpected medical expenses like these hit us hard. But Creed deserves answers, and we aren’t going to stop looking until we figure out what’s wrong.

🎃🐾 WHAT. A. NIGHT!!!! 🐾🎃

WOW!!! Our Howl-a-Ween Bash was one for the books!! 👻🧡

We laughed, we danced, we saw some incredible costumes, and most importantly, we raised some MUCH-NEEDED funds for the babies in our care!! 🐶❤️

While we’re still working on collecting and tallying all the final numbers, it’s looking like we brought in CLOSE TO $3,000 LAST NIGHT ALONE!!! 🤯🎉

We are absolutely blown away by the love and support shown to our rescue!

To everyone who came out, dressed up, had some laughs, bought raffle tickets, and helped make the evening such a success, THANK YOU!!! ❤️

Today, we’re trading in our Halloween costumes for cleaning supplies as we tackle the aftermath, clean up, and break down the venue! 🧹😂 The decorations aren’t going to take themselves down, unfortunately!

Every dollar raised helps us continue doing what we love most: saving lives and giving deserving animals a second chance. 🐾

We have SO many incredible people and businesses to thank, and we’ll be putting together a much more detailed appreciation post over the next few days, once we’ve recovered from the excitement (and finished cleaning up)! 😂

⛳🐾 TWO INCREDIBLE YOUNG MEN MAKING A DIFFERENCE! ❤️

We want to take a moment to recognize and thank Bently Worden and Carter Berry, two Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School seniors and Vikings Golf Team members, for choosing Miles To Freedom Animal Rescue as the beneficiary of their senior project!

These two young men have combined their love of golf and animals to organize a charity golf tournament on October 24th at Norway Country Club, with proceeds benefiting the animals in our care! 🐶❤️

What makes this even more special is that Bently is already a familiar face here at the rescue! He has spent countless hours volunteering his time, helping care for our animals and lending a hand wherever needed. Seeing him take that dedication one step further alongside Carter means so much to us!

We are incredibly honored that these boys chose our rescue. The time, planning, hard work, and dedication that go into organizing an event like this are no small undertaking, especially while balancing school and sports!

⛳ The tournament is already FULL! 🎉 What an amazing accomplishment!

Although the tournament is full, donations and support are still welcome at the event next weekend! Every contribution helps make a difference for the animals in our care. 🐾
