An elevated cot might seem simple, but it’s one of our favorite training tools year-round—especially during the summer months.

Not only does it keep dogs up off the hot ground and allow air to circulate underneath them, helping them stay cooler and more comfortable, but it also creates a clear “place” boundary.

Place isn’t just about staying put. It’s about teaching dogs how to settle, relax, and understand what’s expected of them - even when life is happening around them.

Comfort + structure? That’s a win-win in our book.

Summer adventures are more fun when everyone stays safe—including your dog. ☀️🐾

Heat exhaustion and burned paw pads are more common than many owners realize, especially during Mississippi summers.

Remember:
- Bring water
- Check the ground temperature
- Acclimate your dog slowly
- Have a cooling plan
- Know the signs of overheating

🏆 Daycamp Dog of the Month: Piper

Piper has always had the personality—now she has the structure to match. 🐾

She started private sessions as a puppy and is now a regular for daycamp and boarding!

Daycamp helps build consistency at home, keep her calm in new environments, and burn off some energy!

When people ask why training matters, this is the answer.

Kylo completed a board and train with us and now joins us for day camp to maintain his training, stay active, and have fun while his owner is at work.

All the time and hard work invested into training leads to more moments like this, running free, exploring the woods, and simply getting to be a dog.

We all want our dogs to have the freedom to just be dogs and they need it! 🌿

A lot of common behavior issues come from lack of exercise and fulfillment. Dogs need to sniff, explore, move their bodies, and connect with their owners. A quick neighborhood walk on a leash isn’t enough for most dogs!

But freedom also comes with responsibility. Your dog can’t be running up to people or other dogs, ignoring recall, or making unsafe choices.

When dogs understand what’s expected of them, they earn the freedom to fully enjoy life. That’s what training is really about! Not perfect obedience, but building a better connection so your dog can live their happiest, fullest life.

Birdie’s first hike!! 🌳

Birdie started training to work through some reactive behaviors, and her and her mom have been loving the process and learning together. When her mom asked to start working on hiking skills too, of course we said yes!!

We love helping dogs and their people enjoy life together and build the confidence for new adventures ⭐️
