Josh's Frogs is an inspiring story of success from humble beginnings. It was all started in 2004 by Joshua Willard, a former pastor, dart frog hobbyist and vivarium enthusiast. Josh made flightless fruit fly cultures to serve as feeder insects for his poison dart frogs. From his apartment, he started selling the extra, pre-made fruit fly cultures as well as supplies for kits so others could make t

heir own. After moving to a house, Josh utilized the space in his garage, where he expanded in selling other products as well and hiring his first couple of employees. His dedication to customer service and quality supplies quickly led to a growing success. In 2009, the company moved to its 1st facility in Corunna, Michigan, where it only employed about 4 people but continued to grow. With the extra space, we were able to bring plant propagation, care, and shipping in-house and were able to carry a full line of live plants for dart frog vivaria. We continued to expand our product selection and further develop our own product line, but we quickly began to run out of space! In 2013, Josh's Frogs moved into a 37,000 square foot, 5-story warehouse in Owosso, Michigan where we currently reside and employ over 100 people. We’re now the largest online retailer of reptile and amphibian products as well as the largest breeder of captive bred dart frogs in the United States, and probably the world. We’ve utilized this large space to greatly increase the now even wider variety of live plants, animals, and feeder insects that we offer. However, being the leaders in the industry, we are trusted as a hub of helpful information via our website, blogs, videos on our YouTube channel, and other social media. Our knowledgeable staff is always willing to help in any way that we can. The following philosophies drive our business:

Customer Service - We’re dedicated to providing the best customer service in the pet industry by responding to customers in a timely manner and checking emails/voicemails/chat messages several times per day. Captive Bred Animals - You will never see a wild caught animal for sale at Josh's Frogs. We take great pride in providing only healthy, captive-bred animals. Education - Josh's Frogs is dedicated to teaching proper husbandry of our animals. When you order from us, you’re not just purchasing an animal or product, you’re also purchasing the available services of support and information that is provided to you before, during, and after your purchase. Believe it or not, this Malaysian Dwarf Toad (Ingerophrynus parvus) is almost full grown! Adult females reach just 1.5 to 2 inches long, while males cap out at a tiny 1.25 inches. Guitar pick for scale!

We have some beautiful silvery, splashy, hoya sigillatis in our Hoya spp. - Grower's Choice at the moment. This plant is a trailing, epiphytic, vine native to the rainforests of Borneo. It does well in airy soil, medium humidity, and bright, indirect light. The oval shaped leaves come in small and grow to a few inches long as they mature.

Meet the Singapore Blue! 💙 Omothymus violaceopes is a massive arboreal tarantula native to Singapore, southern Peninsular Malaysia, and the Riau Islands of Indonesia. Its name, violaceopes, comes from the Latin violaceus (“violet” or “purple”) and -pes (“foot” or “leg”) This is a fitting name for a species known for its incredible coloration. Females can reach an impressive 9 to 10 inches across, with those enormous legs making up much of their size. As they mature, females develop an intense, iridescent blue or purple, while mature males transform into a sandy straw color. This girl 5 inch molted just last week and has already grown noticeably! I took this photo while moving her into her new 12 × 12 × 18-inch Exo Terra front opening habitat. She’s getting hard to miss! 💙🕷️

Meet the Vieillardi's Chameleon Gecko! (Eurydactylodes vieillardi)🦎

Get in close and you'll see why they're worth the hype. That crusty, lichen-like scalation is unlike anything else in the New Caledonian gecko world and it's what earned the genus the "chameleon" nickname.

Same island as your crestie. They're from New Caledonia, just like crested and gargoyle geckos, but they top out at only 4.5-5.5 inches.

Arboreal down to their toes. They spend nearly all their time gripping thin branches and vines, so climbing material isn't optional. A bioactive 12x12x18 with live plants suits a single animal or a pair.

Both of these shown are males, which tend to run a little smaller and a little brighter than females.

Phormingochilus hatihati, commonly known as the Purple Earth Tiger, is a stunning blue to violet arboreal tarantula endemic to West Sulawesi, Indonesia. It inhabits tropical lowland rainforests and is sometimes found near agricultural areas, including mango plantations. As juveniles, these tarantulas are typically fossorial, building heavily webbed burrows just beneath the forest floor. As they mature, most transition to an arboreal lifestyle, creating dense web retreats high above the ground, although some remain "pet holes" throughout their lives. That makes sightings of these secretive spiders especially rewarding. I hadn't seen this adult female for over a month before she unexpectedly emerged from her retreat, giving me the perfect opportunity to capture this photo.
