Valley Dog and Cat Hospital Welcome to Valley Dog and Cat Hospital's page! This all starts with a warm hello for you and a belly rub or a head scratch for your pet.

At Valley Dog and Cat Hospital we take pride in delivering personalized, compassionate care to our patients and their humans in Owings Mills, Pikesville, Reisterstown, and surrounding areas. Our team strives to provide a comfortable environment for our patients and clients and we want everyone, both two legged or four, to feel welcome as soon as they enter our hospital. We opened in May of 2015. We offer a wide range of medical services and surgeries for dogs and cats in Owings Mills, MD. We're located at 9125 Reisterstown Road, on the lower level of the Valley Village Shopping Plaza (behind Lenny's Deli). We have ample space for parking within a safe, low traffic area for your pet. Just a reminder, Valley Dog and Cat Hospital will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day.

We will resume normal office hours on Tuesday, September 8th. In the event of an emergency please contact the Vet Emergency Group (VEG) in Pikesville at #410-793-4910 or your nearest animal ER facility.

Look at this charmer! We got to see the stunning Rocky Valentine today! How could you not be obsessed with those bat ears😍 This sweet boy has a lot of anxiety but with a little patience, and a LOT of peanut butter he was a rockstar!

With the extreme heat through this week and into next, we wanted to give some tips and reminders to help keep everyone safe, cool, and hydrated!

🐾When walking your dog, try to take short walks(just long enough for them to use the bathroom) preferably less than 10 minutes. Stay in the grass and under shade when able, and bring water with you!

🐾Remember that concrete and asphalt can be nearly 50 degrees hotter than the air temperature and burns can happen within just 60 seconds. If you live somewhere without any grass readily available, look into getting Doggy booties or "crocs" to help keep paws safely off the ground.

🐾Try to only take walks early in the morning, and after or close to sundown to avoid the worst of the heat!

🐾If your pet begins to show signs of heatstroke, begin cooling them down ASAP:

-Immediately move them to a cool and air-conditioned area
-Have a fan blow directly onto your pet.
-Pour cool water over them
-NEVER place or wrap a towel around your pet, this will trap heat in as it warms up.
-Even if they seem to be improving, call your nearest emergency vet, and begin transporting them immediately. Just like with humans heatstroke can cause organ/brain damage- it's always better to err on the side of caution.

We will be closed this Saturday, July 4th, for Independence day.

We will have normal business hours (8am-6pm) TOMORROW Friday July 3rd, and Monday July 6th(8am-7pm)!

🐾We ask that any medication refill requests be made today, July 2nd, to guarantee they will be ready in time.

🐾If we call medications into another pharmacy for your pet, we cannot guarantee they will be filled before the holiday!

Above all else, we wish everyone a safe, happy, and not-too-hot Holiday!
