Critter Comforts Doggie Daycare/Extended Care And Training Critter Comforts offers Doggie Daycare , Training and Extended Care/ Boarding at the facility. I als Dogs are social animals and love being in a pack.

I believe that in order for a dog to be truly fulfilled, they must have pack experience. No matter how hard we try to make sure all their needs are met, we can't do for them what other dogs can do. I am able to provide that for them here at Critter Comforts. They play, eat, rest, and sleep
together as a pack does with me as their strong, balanced leader.

Meet our newest Pack Member Oliver #3šŸ™ƒ Iā€™m not sure how I will make it work so the dogs donā€™t get confusedšŸ™‚ We will figure it out. Oliver is a cross between a cavalier and a poodle and is 4 years old. He hasnā€™t had a lot of experience with other dogs but he did well today. Laika reprimanded him a couple of times because he doesnā€™t quite understand dog behavior. He accepted it well and just went on his way. He will learn so much from the Pack! He is going to return tomorrow to learn from the Friday Pack. Burrito and Dempsey will put him in his place immediately but I think he will do okay with that. My thoughts are that he will play well with Oliver # 2, Archie snd Buddy. ( The YounginsšŸ¤£) welcome to the Pack OliveršŸ‘šŸ¾šŸ’™šŸ¾

Bandit and Bingo are bonded 9 year olds that enjoy the slower side of life, but they still love their toys! Most of all, they love each other. Theyā€™re looking for a home together where they can settle in and enjoy life side by side.

A quieter home without young children would be best for them.

To follow up a little bit on my feral cat Norman. It was very important that I get Norman neutered and vaccinated becasue it was clear to me after 3 years he wasnā€™t going to move on. Male ā€œTomā€ cats fight, roam and produce constantly. Not just a couple of times a year it is constant. I also didnā€™t want a cat around who wasnā€™t vaccinated especially for rabies since I have so many dogs here. I mentioned that it would be great to have city support to spay and neuter. The chart I am sharing shows the amount of cats born to feral cats. 20,000 kittens born in just 5 years! Norman is no longer part of the epidemic!

This is my feral
Cat Norman. He showed up 3 years ago looking really bad. He is a medium long haired cat. The first time I saw him he was a very light grey color due to mats and a winter coat. I began feeding him. He took up residence in the old garage. I set up a feeding box and kept him fed throughout the winter. I almost never saw him. The next winter I winterized a wood box for him to eat in and gave him a heated water bowl. I set that up on my patio table on my patio so I could keep an eye on him. I started feeding him wet food in a have a heart trap so I could trap him and get him vaccinated and neutered and kept dry food out for him all the time. He started visiting almost daily morning and night to eat. I continued that and I finally trapped him in June. He is now completely vaccinated and neutered. He started hanging out a lot more on the structure I built him between the garages. I plan to tear down the old garage so I needed to
Get him used to something else for his shelter. I bought a wooden outdoor cat house and put it in my patio. He ate in it but wouldnā€™t stay. So I bought another house just like the other ( 140 for both! What a deal) and put one back by the garages. He didnā€™t use itšŸ˜’ He started spending a lot of time in the hostas that line the back of my house. Spent almost every day there all summer. So I decided that in the fall I would move both houses there, add an old beat up raised bed and an old piece of privacy fence for a roof. I had an extra heated pet bed and put that in one of the houses. He started exploring it a few weeks ago and the first cold night he went into the shelter and spent the night on the bed. Even though the heated bed was in he wouldnā€™t go in the house. So I moved the heated pad to the raised bed and put a two beds in there and covered the opening. The next night the camera went off and he was all cuddled up in there! He has been there every night since and spends most of his morning there. He doesnā€™t even look like the same cat! I can get about 3 feet from him before he bolts! He is a truly feral cat and other than when he was neutered has probably never been touched by a human. He will never be a pet but he is important to me. There are thousands of stray and feral cats within the city limits of Owatonna
That struggle to stay alive. Itā€™s a hard and sad life for these cats. So Iā€™m am grateful that I have been able to help Norman live a safer and much more comfortable life. I see him every morning,
Noon and night when I call him to come for his food. A lot of communities have TNR ( trap, neuter, release) and it has made a huge difference in the amount of feral cats in their communities. I wish Owatonna funded a service like this. There is a group
Helping Hands of Southern MN that is doing a lot for the feral population but they struggle. So if you can donate a few dollars to them that would help a lot if cats! Norman is no longer out there making babies!
