Such an honor ❤️
Last week we welcomed Dr. Christine Cichra of Holistic Veterinary Care of CFL to provide acupuncture to one of our Bald Eagle patients. Patient 474's recovery has been a collaborative process every step of the way: Conservancy of Southwest Florida Von Arx Wildlife Hospital provided initial care, but because their 100-foot flight barn is being repaired, they transferred the eagle to us for rehabilitation. We brought in Dr. Cichra, who has been practicing holistic veterinary medicine since 2007, to promote healing, provide pain relief, and stimulate the nervous system. This was Dr. Cichra's first Bald Eagle patient, and clinic intern Logan had the opportunity to observe and assist with the treatment, making for an amazing learning experience.
