Axel has been in our program about 45 days now. Draft X gelding. Green undersaddle, and had a sticky starter just wouldnt move forward for his owner, sometimes not even walk. Getting in the groove now! Look at that big dumpling canter around. Proud of the big oaf. He is learning self carriage, how to balance himself, working on cadence and just settling into a good working student here.

Another gelding in for trail refreshing, checking off the checklist. Today checks: mounting/unmounting both sides, ok with objects well above, mounting from ....whatever you need to get on, terrain check up hills and down. You would be surprised how many people tell me their horse rushes up and down hills, or may buck going up or down. Water entry and exit. (Yes I know i have tennis shoes on i have a broken toe and my boots make it hurt)

Trail season is getting ready to ramp up and folks are itching to finally enjoy those long sunny days ahead. The patnership between you and your horse are essential and proper preperation is the key to the best version of both your horse and yourself. This month we have a handful of horses in for trail refreshing and a few for introduction to trail work and building confidence outside of ringwork. Here is Rip who has come for trail work/ going through an exercise to build confidence with what he percieves as a scary object. This exercise helps keep his mind engaged to not "check out" and choose flight mode, we work wtc, and add in various other manuevers and before you know it, walla! We didnt focus on lets go up and touch it, smell it, tiptoe around it. We simply worked around it until it wasnt a threat.

This is a tough one! I absolutely LOVE this mare. When I say she is one of a kind trust me she is!
2022 GHA registered, Gypsy Vannar x AQHA. She is by King of the South, GVHS 5 star rated stallion and one of the top LP colored stallions of the breed. As she ages she continues to change in color...more white, more spots, more roaning! She stands a THICK 14.3hh maybe 15 ill have to stick. Dam is Lopez Boondoc, great cowhorse lines, Nitro Dual Doc/Freckles Pl***oy. Kind, social best friend material without taking advantage of your relationship. She is saucy, and just plain funny. The one to buck run and play with her buddies, but walk back from the pasture with you when the other go running past for feed time. She has been part of our family going on 3 years. She has a good start and foundation I put about 60 days on her as a 2 yr old, and another 60 throughout this past year. In the arena wtc, stop, back, understanding of leg yields...can open gate etc. She is a no quitter type ride, she is done when you are. This past winter soooooo much snow so been skijoring with her also. Great to handle, ties, cross ties, blanket, groom, farrier, stall, trailer. All the things they should! PM for further info.
