THEY CALL US PESTS.

But we're mothers.

We're fathers.

We're babies trying to survive another night.

The opossum crossing your yard isn't looking for trouble.

She's looking for food.

The raccoon in your tree isn't plotting against you.

She's trying to feed her family.

The skunk under your shed isn't waiting to spray someone.

She's hiding her babies where she hopes they'll be safe.

Yet these are some of the most hated animals in North America.

People trap them.

Poison them.

Shoot them.

Drive them away.

Often for doing nothing more than existing where a forest used to be.

🌿 The opossum quietly cleans up carrion, insects, and fallen fruit.

🌿 The raccoon is one of the most intelligent animals in your neighborhood.

🌿 The skunk spends its nights eating grubs, beetles, and pests most gardeners don't want.

They are not villains.

They are not invaders.

They are native wildlife trying to survive in a world that grows smaller every year.

Look past the reputation.

Look past the myths.

Look at the mother carrying babies on her back.

Look at the family trying to make it through the night.

And remember:

Every animal is the hero of its own story.
