This is a post 2 years in the making.
Ivy was the runt of her litter. Approximately 5 lbs when she went home. After the owner had her for 3-5 weeks she took her to the vet and it was noted she had a urinary tract infection. Very common in puppies, especially low to the ground ones. After a round of antibiotics she was retested and it was still present. The vet wanted to do a culture to help see exactly which antibiotics would help best. She also wanted to do an ultrasound to rule out any kidney issues. Owner stopped further treatment and wanted me to take her back because vet told her that it was possible her kidneys were an issue. POSSIBLE. I took her back and took her to my vet and another round of antibiotics was prescribed as well as bloodwork. Told the owner that if it indeed was kidney issue, she could get another puppy from me at no charge. My vet cleared her for the UTI and said she was healthy and would live a long and healthy life. Owner just accused me of lying, manufacturing fake documents, having her friends write hateful reviews about my dogs, etc etc.
Well, here is Ivy. Over two years old with zero issues. At the same time, she told another buyer what her vet said so we had two dogs at the same time. The males owner said the puppy wouldnt live over 4 months. He is also 2 years old and healthy as well. If we ever had a confirmed kidney issue, we would stand behind the puppy and take care of it. But that wasn't the case. I currently kept and have both dogs so we could monitor in case a problem ever did arise. I didn't resell them to make double the money like I was accused of doing.
As fox reds do, Ivys coat has gotten darker with age. She is a beautiful 65 lb lab who loves people and she will stay with me. Not a runt anymore. 🥰
