Figz Dog Rescue Our mission as a small foster based rescue is to save dogs from dire situations (such as kill shelters, at risk of euthanasia) and give them hope.

We have a bit of a life update for our rescue. Our sweet baby boy came a little early so we will be closed for intake for at least a few months while we adjust to newborn life ❤️. We still have miss Poppy looking for her forever home in the mean time. Look at her cute butt photobombing our maternity photos last month 😆. Love this sweet tripod girl. Huge thanks to Kaley Mays for including our animals in our photos since they really are family.

Four of our rescue dogs have found their forever homes this month! Sunshine puppy in the first photo had a few potential homes but finally found her right fit with a wonderful dog sibling too! The second photo is Coco after her foster took her to be groomed 😍. She is being adopted this weekend by a wonderful family. Third photo is cute Brownie pup in her new home in a comfy bed. She was originally found in a box on the side of the road 😭. Fourth photo is our big Thia dog who had the painful entropion (eyelid) condition repaired last month. She now has a younger lab sister to bring her even more joy.

We can’t thank everyone enough for opening their homes to these deserving dogs. Rescue dogs can take a little more TLC at times to adjust but are so incredibly worth it!

Adopted 😍

It’s a SUNSHINE pup 😍. Still on the hunt for her perfect fit of a forever home. She is doing great in foster but we wanted to show some updated photos since she’s about 13-14 weeks old now and closer to 15lbs. We still have no idea what breeds she is other than guessing lab mix 🤷‍♀️.

Sunshine is sure a ball of personality and fun! I don’t think she has ever met anyone she considers a stranger as she thinks every person and animal should be her best friend. 🐶❤️. She would do well with a dog friend that can match her enthusiastic energy or one that can tell her when to cool her jets in an appropriate way. Sunshine just thinks all the time should be play time!

Adopted ❤️

Another puppy for adoption! It’s the season of dumped puppies 😳. This poor girl was found in a box on the side of the road. A very nice lady got her cleaned up and brought her to us to find her a home. Her foster is calling her Brownie and reports she is doing wonderful in their home. She is around other dogs, cats, and kids.

Brownie is guessed to be around 10 weeks old and is a typical playful puppy that will need continued training like all puppies. She has the shepherd coloring but is smaller with much different ears and tail. Really we have no ideas what breed she is other than cute!

Meet and greet pending now 😍🥰

Check out our new rescue dog up for adoption! Don’t mind her slightly disheveled hairdo as she will be getting groomed shortly. I think it just adds to her cute, scruffy look though 😍.

Meet miss Coco 🐶. We are guessing her breed to be cairn terrier or schnauzer mix based on the wiry texture of her coat. She is 2 years old and 23lbs so a perfect smaller/medium size girl. Coco is in a foster home with other dogs and cats and doing well. Her foster mom reports she mostly ignores the other dogs and would do fine as an only dog or with a mellow dog that doesn’t want to play much or has a gentle play style. She ignores the cats in the house so should coexist with cats well but we always recommend slow intros with any new pet.

Coco is a very friendly, sweet girl that would love to get out on some walks. She is a lower energy girl in the house but medium energy when going on walks. Coco does think it’s a fun game to play “catch me if you can” off leash so we recommend only fenced yards/leash walks unless you plan to do some dedicated training on recall to keep her safe. She does very well on car rides so far and enjoys sitting on someone’s lap for longer trips.

Coco is spayed, up to date on vaccines, current on flea control, and negative on her f***l/ heartworm test. If you feel you are the right fit for coco please apply on figzdogrescue.org.

Our amazing Pyrenees foster girl, Poppy. From the first video of her struggling to walk on her deformed leg to now being a silly, unstoppable tripod! Poppy is 6.5 months old and would love a family of her own to continue growing and learning. She has been an amazing part of our family while she has healed physically but she is ready to find a home of her own ❤️.

Poppy does amazing with cats and chickens too! She is such a silly girl and loves lounging in the yard (and digging holes with her one front leg, ha). She is potty trained and kennel trained plus is an amazing car buddy for long drives.

Adopted 😍

Sunshine had a potential adopter but she just wasn’t quite the right fit for their family so she is looking for her new forever home! She is in a wonderful foster home while she waits for her forever family.

Sunshine has a lot of puppy energy and is still working to be less mouthy when playing. She does still have all her baby teeth at 12 weeks so it will just take time and patience for this little happy land shark. She is absolutely thrilled to meet every person, dog, or cat she can.

Sunshine is about 11lbs now so she should stay on the medium size of things full grown is our guess. Her breed is a mystery to all! We thought lab mix initially but she has some cute scruffy hair as well and a spotted nose.

This is a giant appreciation post for the community that helps support our rescue dogs. Lucky Dog Grooming is holding another dog food drive for us and has brought in some amazing food already! It goes until the end of this month. Cap'n Gull's Gift Place and Ginger Roots Home both have donation jars at their front counter all the time to fundraise for our rescue. Grocery Outlet supplies us with any overstock dog food/treats to help feed the foster dogs we have.

At the Beach Bacon and Brews event we had 3 amazing volunteers that stayed the entire time to cook and serve over 600 food samples for our booth. Thanks to Suzanne and James cooking delicious food we won 2 awards at the event! In addition to this list we also have fosters who open their homes and busy lives to watch rescue dogs in need. Many people who can’t foster end up helping in other ways such as transporting dogs to fosters or medical visits. Then we have generous people who donate what they can to help pay for surgeries and medical care for these lucky dogs.

To say we couldn’t save these dogs without this community of support is an understatement. We thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for supporting our dream of saving so many special needs dogs. 🥲❤️❤️❤️

Poppy went on her 3rd camping trip while in foster with us! She went on a boat for the first time and did amazing with the new experience. My niece and nephew loved having her around since she’s so good with kids. We did go on some walks that wore her out so she was very happy to be carried around like a princess for parts of it🤣.

Poppy is a 6 month old tripod Pyrenees and is still very much a puppy at heart! She loves being able to play and have mental stimulation or else she will dig giant holes in the yard 😆. She does amazing in the car even for long distances and will sleep the whole time.

Poppy will need an adopter that knows she will be a big dog and will need help getting into cars or up steep stairs. We take her on walks knowing we will likely need to carry her part of the way when she gets worn out on her front leg. Although Poppy has some special needs she would love to find a family of her own! She is a sweet, loving girl. ❤️

This poor girl’s eyes are so bad and painful. She was using our fence to try to rub her eyes last night 😭. I dropped her off early this morning at RAD clinic for her eyelid surgery. Thia’s lived her whole life in pain and that changes today! We are so grateful for those who have donated in the past so we can help dogs like her.

Thia has done great with dogs and cats and goats so far. We will continue to see how she does in foster while healing to find the best home. Just like all rescue dogs, Thia will need a little guidance in foster learning the ropes. She is struggling some with separation anxiety and learning to walk on hard floors/ stairs. Luckily she is a gentle giant and has a sweet disposition so patience and love will help her blossom 🌸.
